I nominate Denny Hastert. A respected man makes the PL mistake of paying an extortionist, resulting in his being charged with crimes and having his reputation ruined.
At least he was persistent. I heard to get a head in life, sometimes you have to be persistent. I wonder if he ever got lucky on the subway or if he just wanted an LDK?
