A annual spring tradition at least in the Midwest. Gas stations selling bags of red mulch.

Creating carrots and apples that smell like gasoline! Brilliant! :)
Usually bales on pine straw are the big seller in Georgia and other parts of the SE. But this year for the first time since I have been here red mulch is everywhere. Home Depot had a whole section of it's parking lot covered with red and black mulch but the red was the big seller.
Since I just bought my new house last fall, I had to do some spring yard work. That including 4 1/2 pallets of sod and 4 huge bags of red mulch.
We don't need deer bait. The cars work pretty well.
Just like everywhere else it is all about making money any way you can.
SC: Colorado has bales of pot.
I remember during the winter some stations selling salt and bags of sand.
Yep but I see more brown than red. Just like every time I get gas in the winter this stupid chain of stores always asks me if I need windshield wiper fluid or firewood when I fill my tank up.
I speculate that gas station chains want to be responsible and not sell beef jerky after its "best by" date. So, after 50 years or so, they chop it up and sell it as red mulch.
^^^ or they just put it on the hotdog racks, heat it up and it becomes a little chewy!
True rockstar
In Michigan, the gas stations up North sell HUGE bags of carrots and apples. (For deer bait) They are piled up everywhere around where you pump your gas.
