At first I thought he is just throwing his $$$ down the drain – but a lot of those cars are collector editions and will probably be worth more $$$ w/ time:

In 10 years he'll be living in his car.
5+ years ago I would have paid almost anything to see this fight in person. Now, I wouldn't even consider paying the crazy pay-per-view fee. Way too late for this to be compelling.
Oh yea, they are an "investment."
