Amateur night at the stripclub

Well, last few amateur nights I have attended have been disappointing. Now, don't get me wrong, the dancers have been great, but there in lies the problem, they for the most part are not amateurs but dancers from other clubs. Now, don't get me wrong, I like to watch good stripping, but I feel that amateur night should only be open to amateurs, and when the girls that show are know to dance at other clubs I feel that they shouldn't be allowed, I paid to see amateurs. Over the last few months I have been to 5 amateur nights at 3 different clubs and all but 3 of the girls were at every night and I know that only 2 were not strippers at other local clubs (and those 2 most likely were amateurs by they acted). I asked a girl I know who occasionally would participate (non professional stripper) and she said that she loved doing it but quit because the regular strippers were taking all the prizes and girls like her just couldn't compete.

Just curious if anyone else have seen this and what the groups opinion on this is?

Just like when the are having a feature porn star, I ignore them and find it a good time to go to the semi private couch dance rooms for some more private lap dances.

Some of those "amateurs" will drive 2 hours or more to compete for $500 or more.

Shadow, I'm in northeastern PA and have actually seen "amateurs" drive from Philly and NJ to compete. There was a night last year that year that 2 clubs were both having an amateur night and the same dancer from New York City drove out and won both, I think the one was $500, the other like a grand. Just tired of the ringers, I really like to watch the amateurs, the shyness, the awkwardness, or the girl who didn't think she was going to like it and really get turned on doing it for the first time.

On occasion I'll attend an amateur night. I'm fully aware that it's mostly established dancers from other clubs. But, I find that to be a benefit, because I may get to see a dancer that interests me that I would have otherwise missed. If like a dancer I see at a contest, I'll talk to her afterward, and if she's from another club, I'll get her schedule and go in and see her. To me, this is an efficient way to scout new talent.

I prefer not to steer someone else's thread in a different direction, but I had another thought: Instead of "amateur night," if the term "guest dancer night" was used, with the full expectation that the guests would be a combination of amateurs and professionals (like a Pro-Am tournament), would that appease any of you who don't like to see pros at amateur night?

Club, I do agree. It's a great way to scout talent from other clubs. What I have found, though, is a lot of the dancers that compete from other clubs tend to move around a lot and they use amateur nights to check out other clubs.

As far as calling them guest dancer nights, no club owner is going to do that, it's admitting that other clubs have better girls.

Just got a private message from someone who didn't want his ID known since he managed a club but he told me that they quit having real amateurs for amateur night because most were actually working girls looking for new clients. They knew that if they allowed "professional" dancers that at least they could control it somewhat. Interesting thought

Only amateurs I've ever seen undress in a club were drunk and/or horny female customers.

John, they are usually the best....and they usually don't care about breaking some rules either!

I haven't been to an amateur contest in many years. They used to have them a lot, but I rarely see them advertised anymore. I suspect they had a lot of trouble finding "real" amateurs and the other club dancers filled the gap. As long as they were cute, I did not care. I would much prefer to see an amateur contest with "cute professional dancers" as opposed to one with fat, ugly "real amateurs".

I sent her a PM and found out that she won the contest and then started working there part time.

I have been to about a dozen or so " amateur " nights, and there were never any amateurs competing. All were dancers from other clubs checking to see if they'd like to work at that particular club.

For example at the Sunnyvale Brass Rail, they have a weekly amateur or wet t-shirt contest. It can be a good time to talk with the house dancers. But also, under the cover of the contest, some hookers always come it. They act like they are in the contest but they aren't.

Amateur nights do being various possibilities.

Yeah, that is interesting. They don't want hookers coming to the club looking for new customers.

Kind of the same logic that explains why clubs generally don't allow single women....oh, wait....nevermind....

Not that’s it’s 100% the case; but IME; most “events” @ SCs (e.g. amateur night; etc) usually only detract from the SC experience rather than enhancing it.

Just give me good looking enough dancers w/ good 2-way contact and skip all the other BS – that’s what I go to SCs for.

As “snowtime” posted – I rarely see amateur night events anymore nor do I see feature acts much anymore – I think they are a relic of the 80s and 90s and don’t have the pizazz they once may have had.

At least at one of my regular clubs, participating in amateur night is the one sure way for dancers from other clubs to get their foot in the door there. Technically, they can audition, but it's so much easier for them to just do amateur night. Which doesn't stop real amateurs from dancing on their stage for amateur night. One of my current faves there didn't realize how hot she was til she did amateur night and ended up winning second place. It should also be noted all strippers were true amateurs once.

In the areas in which I club, amateur nights are far less common than they used to be 10+ years ago. But even when they were more common, they almost always involved girls who were clearly not amateurs.

Papi, I do agree that events like this do detract from the regular "strip club experiance", but it is also nice to help mix it up a little bit if the club is starting to get a "stail" feeling to it. I have also see that some of the regular dancers durring and after the event tend to give a little bit better service, don't know if it's that they feel threatened (their regular customers get to see new dancers or what) by the other girls or what, but it tends to be a good time afterwards. There is one club in the area I'm at that does allow the "amateurs" to do private dances, but for the most part they are monitored heavily because they know that these girls really have minimal to loose if they break the rules (except not being allowed to participate in the future).
