As a personal belief I am opposed to any form of banning speech unless there is a soldi and compelling reason. Just because a jerk is too lazy or uniformed to give us reviews, is no reason to ban him. Just put him on "Ignore" until he grows up and contributes.

While "banning" anyone is against a constitutional principle here at tuscl, being a leech is likewise against what this place is all about. We should not help people who refuse to contribute by taking the minimal effort of posting some decent reviews.

Why inspire the nitwits to spam the review section as well?

I find ignore works pretty well for the Trolls. For the other ones, I don't think its that big a deal for them to start a discussion. Occasionally, people get a little too greedy but for the most part I don't have a problem with someone's first post being a discussion rather than a review.

Let everyone post. Why should I care about if they posted reviews? We have lots of contributors who are experienced mongers who are still complete idiots, and some with no reviews are actually interesting.

Vague reviews which talk about "high mileage" or OTC, are not very helpful. But detailed reviews which talk about FS-ITC, could hurt the clubs.

On Red Book we gave no specific info about walk in AMPs. We only got detailed with the AAMPs, which require you to book an appointment to get the address. No harm ever occurred to an AAMP or an RA because of this. When LE struck, they never connected the address to RB.

But with an SC, LE or angry neighbors could use the reviews to make trouble. So I am not clear as to the best way to proceed.

I think most important is to start talking in general about good GFE-FS, versus the extras model, extras-FS, and all the things which make a place a clip joint.
