Have you noticed a slow down lately ?

Miami, FL (or the nearest big-booty club)

We all know that the club scene has not been the same for the most part since the recession – but my question in the title is w.r.t. the last few months or year.

I drove by 4 different SCs on Saturday night – w.r.t. the 1st one; the parking lot was about 1/3 empty when it's usually full on weekends (per my visits over the last couple of years and months) – I decided not to go inside.

Then I drove by 2 other clubs that had been kind of struggling and they were closed.

I then went by a 4th club that normally is packed on weekends and it was only about 60% full and saw various dancers just sitting around (not normally the case for this club).

I've also read a couple of reviews of other clubs in my area that don't seem to be doing as well as they used to.

I know this topic is discussed from time to time and it's also hard to gauge the club scene in real time; but last Saturday night was a bit sobering.

Have you noticed a noticeable slowdown?

Yes, wrt several downtown Kansas City clubs and one club in Kansas.

In MO a 2010 more restrictive state law plus the sagging economy was a double whammy for clubs; several closed, or stayed open on fewer days and had more trouble retaining dancers.

Now KC clubs have adapted well to restrictions so it's the economy that continues to drag on attendance. If there are big events or conventions DT then club patronage increases.

The Kansas club is in a university town so attendance and dancer numbers vary by university activity...spring break, finals, etc.

Yeah papi here the sluggish economy is still having a big impact.

Yes, a few years ago on the weekends my favorite clubs would be packed, nowadays on the weekends it's like maybe half full.

Club owners do not understand the economy of leisure activities. When married guys have to fund two car notes, house note, gasoline, utilities, health care, expenses for growing children and groceries, there is only so much money left for clubbing. The owners/managers have bullheadedly followed a policy of nickle and dimeing customers for everything until a lot of guys have just cut back. Valet, booth tip, $30.00 dances, shot girls, VIP admission and overpriced drinks will drive customers away. Now, clubs are full only after major sports events. Otherwise, Fridays and Saturdays are as lame as Monday afternoons.

I have seen it too. None of the clubs that I frequented circa 2007 have been where they were in terms of attendance since then, but some of the clubs were starting to pick up during the latter half of '12 and all of '13. Now things seem to be slowing back down a lot. The one notable exception to this are the clubs in S. CT., which are frequented by guys working in money management firms and who are benefiting from historically high stock market prices. But outside of that pocket, things are slow everywhere now.

There are a lot of cheaper, more convenient PL options available on the Internet these days. They'll never match the feel of a top-notch lap dance, but it's a quicker, less expensive process.

I have seen the same thing. I hit two large clubs last week and both were eerily empty both of custies and dancers.

The economony is not as good as the media likes to tell us. Unemployment rates might supposedly "be down", but that is because alot of people gave up looking for work or sit on what is almost endless welfare. Also alot of people working are doing jobs that are part time, temporary, or below their skill level. 37% of college graduates are working jobs where only a high school education is requaired.

Also consider some of the insane pricing at SC's. For example, they offer a half hour VIP room (with cameras and rules) for $300. In many areas of the US, you can get an hour of sex with a hooker for $200 or less. Why would guys bother with strip clubs?

Yes, dancing used to attract super hot girls in Dallas and Vegas when I started clubbing over 20 years ago. Now, the girls are no longer anywhere nearly as hot and they have to compete with girls who bend the rules to get regular customers. I agree, clubbing is not anywhere like it used to be,

I see a lot of people in strip clubs later at night but many are not tipping as much especially early in the evening. At one point early in the evening, there were a number of good looking dancers and very few guys. Unfortunately several guys showed up not long after. I was enjoying the fact that there were more females than guys for a little while.

The official unemployment rate in South Carolina I thought I read was almost a whole percent below the national average, maybe less so recently. In counties with strip clubs, unemployment is the lowest. Apparently strip clubs lead to low unemployment. Just like Obama's full of hot air and changing our climate by talking too much.

I don't sc as much as I used to. Why go spend several hundred dollars at the sc and maybe get laid when I can go to an AMP and have my way with a willing lady for an hour at a cost of $120-$160 plus the house fee (usually $50-$70 for an hour)? Incall/Outcall escort? $2-300 plus the hotel room if outcall.

The only upside to a SC is variety and you get to see/test drive her first.
