Peep shows are commonly referred to as "jack shacks." A dancer and a customer are in a booth, but the two are separated by a pane of glass. There's usually enough privacy that the customer can jack off during the show. Here in Seattle, two of the Deja Vu clubs have peep shows in the same building, but on a separate floor from their strip clubs. Deja Vu also has other peep show, only "clubs" elsewhere in the U.S.

It depends on how the state defines prostitution. In Virginia, prostitution consists of an exchange of something of value for an act of coitus or another penetrative act involving the mouth or anus. Thus, technically, any manual stimulation (or stimulation by any other body part except the mouth, anus or vagina) of the male genitalia for sexual gratification in exchange for money or other thing of value IS NOT prostitution.

Of course, while you might convince a judge or appellate court of this, I wouldn't try the same argument with your wife/gf/so . . .

I saw a documentary on truckers once that said they were popular with them. After all that time on the road, it's more personal than porn and a guaranteed release you won't necessarily get at a straight-up strip club. Plus, then you're not doing your business where you do most of your business, if you get my drift.

I know a lot of truckers utilize other adult services, too, but I distinctly remember the doc singling out these places and brothels as two popular choices for truckers.

I've never been, but they're all over town here. A number of them are near the strip clubs/airport (as I guess is to be expected) and often have cars in the lot. I imagine they operate in a legal gray area. Much like strip clubs, some of the activity is perfectly legal but boundaries are probably pushed and/or crossed from time to time.

As far as why people go, isn't it fairly obvious? They've got naked or at least nearly girls to interact with, guys like that. By reputation they seem to push the boundaries more than most strip clubs too, again something most guys are probably more than happy to do. One of the dancers at a regular strip club I frequent also works the door at one of those joints part time. She says the rates are pretty low compared to strip clubs, again something most guys would appreciate. Of course, she also says the girls get a smaller cut than they do of the CR rates at strip clubs. Consequently, they aren't exactly attracting the cream of the crop.
