What did you do for income before stripping ?

Thought this was a bit of an insightful SW thread:

I didn't bother looking at the Stripperweb link, but with a lot of the dancers I know they were working at a minimum wage job before stripping, and for a lot of them if they stopped stripping a minimum wage job would be the only option.

Sounds like they worked a bunch of menial jobs that other people do without complaint, but they either didn't get enough money, hours, or got lazy.

2 Mondays ago, after 8 hours of drinking I found myself in a local club that has, for some reason, been hiring the youngest girls possible. Talking to one of the dancers I asked her what she did for a job before she was a stripper and she responded "well last year I was a junior in high school and on the cheer squad so my parents gave me an allowance". On the way home as I hung out with my buddy 420 I realized that she was now a senior and that I had last been a senior 39 years ago.....

These bitches on SW have the attention span of a gnat. If we're all PLs how do we have the means to purchase ANY of these ladies time? And I mean no disrespect to the wonderful women of TUSCL. Even if it is an oxymoron and a coping mechanism, I have a issue with the sanctification of SW posters as they scheme and press for the $ of PLs while admittedly a number of them lack the skills to do much else. Cinnamon, come talk me off my soapbox - thou doth protest too much....

Many of these strippers have told me they "guest bartended" at different bars for tips. Others worked in retail or fast food. Many said they were supported by their ex boyfriends who were drug dealers. I think many of them have PL sugar daddies and drug dealers for support. Better make that money now! That lifestyle ages them fast.
What they can sell today, they won't be able to give away tomorrow!

My favorite: "Hotdog on a stick".

    Stripping was fate.

    Most were predictable....

    Food servers, fast food, bartenders

Many worked with animals --- no surprise. Animals and strippers seem joined at the hip.

I have been a housekeeper for over 10 years and worked for 4 years at a very liberal (nudity allowed) mineral springs spa before I started dancing. The spa took advantage of me by making me work several hours unpaid. I make better income dancing and cleaning a few houses a week.

Oh and the tips and the fun can be similar ... i have had hotel guests fall for me even in my housekeeper uniform and begged me to share drinks in their room ... I like the unpredictable and I love meeting new people, also even when I am cleaning I turn up the radio and dance a bit ;) I have received great tips for housekeeping as well as dancing ... like $100 for just coming in and making the bed and being friendly chatting ...

This is why they are strippers. Stripping is the best paying and most enjoyable job they can get.

I always tell the new girls that if you want to be successful, you need to get in touch with your inner slut ... i dont know if it works for them but i personally love to please and i am grateful for every dollar earned especially while having fun :) Good time surprised me at the resort when a Lady from Florida really liked me and wanted to pay me for my company :) What the boss doesnt know never hurt anyone right?

I don't see what's insightful about it. Can't really remember any dancer saying she left a $40K+ job to dance.

I know one that was a real estate agent and she says that she will go back to that when she hangs up her dancing shoes unless her boy friend backs off of his insistence on a prenup.

I read the post and noticed that the poster Selina M mentioned that she will be working weekends at a Renaissance Festival as booth manager. I wonder how many others have done this? I know of at least one other, years ago, she was a very busty redhead. She was the assistant for the sword swallowing act, and was obviously chosen because she filled out the low cut top and could really ham it up.

I also noticed one mentioning being an escort for one year. She is one of the few on the Pink site to admit to this.

I know that the younger of my 2 ex-stripper coworkers once said before she was a stripper, she had only worked in fast food restaurants, other than a brief period working at a liquor store. So her experience seems in line with the SW posters. As for the older of the 2, I remember her saying she once owned a pet store, so that goes in line with those who worked with animals.

As for currently active dancers, my current fave at my favorite club used to be in real estate, which I think meant she only worked the office at the apartment complex.

I have met a 45 yo stripper who took a 7-year hiatus to run her own landscaping company that unfortunately tanked when the economy went south. To look at her, you wouldn't think she is a day over thirty. Another is a 43 yo who worked as a medical assistant before starting to strip (at 35!) So that she could make enough to support her kids after her divorce. She can hold her own with any dancer I have ever seen - a total GILF! She has her exit strategy planned.

One with criminology and fine arts degrees who had worked as a LEO. I think she went back to that.

And, of course, the usual run of food service, retail sales and formerly stay at home mothers.
