Once, and she started escorting

My ATF and I discussed escorting and I even emailed her a lot of different links to escort sites but she never did it. She felt dancing was safer and gave you time to get to know the guy before hooking up. She just didn't want to drop her drawers and fuck for guys she didn't know and trust. She was afraid of the serial killer types out there who might be calling escort services.

Maybe because stripper don't want to make the upfront investment of paying for a hotel room or their own place. At least with strip clubs they can pay the house fee after their shift.

If a girl advertises and offers herself for sex to the general public she feels like a prostitute. If a girl strips in a club and sometimes has sex with guys she feels she is a dancer and not a prostitute. Being a stripper allows her to maintain her self-esteem.

I've been with escorts who danced but wouldn't do extras in the club, used different names and never even told most of their club customers that they also escorted. I've also had dancers who escorted and offered OTC after just one meeting in the club. The dancers who only do FS in the club but won't escort outside seem to think it's a safety issue. That last group seems to be getting smaller as time goes on and clubs start to charge higher house fees.

Most girls I have had OTC tell me they prefer to get clients from the clubs as a safer form of screening than would be possible from phone and text contacts. They find clubbing gives them income when the escort scene may be slow.

And I know there are a couple of otherwise successful local escorts who dance occasionally, so I can see your second point too.

The more safety-conscious escorts (which generally includes most of the hotter ones) want you to prove who you are IRL (to them, their agency, or preferred411/date-check) before they will see you. They will also take references from other escorts, but there's the obvious bootstrap issue with that. Apparently there is a national US blacklist of problem johns available to escorts.

I think that's a great question, however working at a SC, you get more time to weed through the PL's, whereas an escort will take what ever she can get.

I know a dancer who does extras both in and out of the club. A couple of years ago she hooked up with a drug dealer who wanted her to escort for him. She went to a hotel for her first customer and after he got his pants off she said he had open sores on his dick. She gave him his money back and left. She, like many others, prefers to get to know a customer before the full carnal tour.

An escort needs to run her own business -- advertising and marketing, showing up on time, managing her brand through reviews, etc. The extras strippers I know who preferred to work out of the club weren't cut out for that level of responsibility. Working at the strip club, it was the club who generated leads (got customers walking in the door), they had the SC to fall back on for revenue, laxer time rules, cherry pick which customers they'll do extras for, etc.

I think you need to separate out girls who provide FS ITC from those who do it strictly OTC as they are often two different animals.

Girls who offer FS ITC tend to have fewer illusions about what they are doing. In my experience, they prefer doing it in the club mostly for safety, convenience and so that they can earn without putting their faces all over escort boards.

Girls who offer p4p OTC, however, come in a variety of different forms. For starters, there are certainly girls who routinely offer OTC p4p and simply use clubs to build their client rosters. These girls are similar to the ITC girls in many respects in that they harbor few illusions as to what they are doing, but find the club to be a safer and more convenient way to market than using escort boards.

However, there is also a breed of dancer who agrees to OTC p4p more opportunistically. These girls often do not view themselves as prostitutes - even as they collect cash for p4p. ;) Indeed, I have had favorites who fall into this category who would have been highly offended if I had ever asked them why they did not advertise as escorts and I have heard a couple of them seriously refer to other girls as "whores" and "sluts" even as they were preparing to meet me in my hotel on those very same nights - lol.

In my experience, in the more buttoned down areas, it is not a stretch to say that a lot of the girls who offer OTC fall into that last category. I cannot count how many times I have heard some version of "I don't do this regularly/often." Now some I believed and others I did not, but the point is that it was important to them that they not be viewed as prostitutes. with that said, asking OTC girls a question like that might not be the best idea unless you are sure that you are dealing with a gal who does not need to operate under some other illusion. ;)
