dancer's salary

Dumped by ATF?
Just curious how much do dancers usually make out of a $20 dance plus tip. Do they give the club half of what they make at tipout? I realize it varies from clubs.

What alucard said. The practices vary dramatically.

Most clubs have a house fee for working, which can range anywhere from $10 to 200+ depending upon the club and region.

Some clubs make dancers kick out a piece of each LD while others don't. For the ones that do, I've seen ranges anywhere from $5 per dance to half. However, in some clubs, the guys pay a separate fee to go into the LD area and the girl keeps the LD money.

Some clubs take a big % of vip rooms and others don't. For the ones that do, it can be up to half or even more. The ones that don't will often charge the guy a door/entrance fee instead and the girl charges whatever she can.

In NYC, many girls are disappointed if they leave with less than $500 after the pay everybody off, but there are plenty of areas where a few hundred bucks is a good night.

On so forth and so on. You get the picture. The only way to know how it works in your club(s) is to ask.

When my ATF was in her prime she averaged about $750 a night. $1000 nights were not unusual. At her club the dancer keeps the $20 for a nude dance and keep $200 for every 1 hour Champagne Room. The club does a 2 for 1 about every hour which includes a tee shirt and a free pass for admission.. The dancer pays $10 for the t- shirt (they're silk screened, Patriots, Bruins, or Red Sox) but keeps the $30. The club gets $175 for the Champagne Room. Dancers are expected to tip the bouncers, the DJ, and the dressing room matron ( who makes and sells dancers's outfits. Waitresses, rub girls and bartenders get their own tips. The club makes its money primarily on liquor sales, admission fees & Champagne Rooms.
There are still some "whales" out there and occasionally the dancers make out very well.
One night after a Patriot's game four men in their late 30's or early 40's came in, selected 4 dancers and got 2 Champagne Rooms for two hours. Each dancer was paid $1200 and the whale kept buying bottles of Krystal champagne. I don't know what they did to earn the money but I heard one dancer was snorting lines of coke off a guy's dick. Now that's a stimulant!

I wonder how the juice bars make their money? A larger cut of the various fees? I know several juice bars that charge $20 cover on entry, so I wonder if that is the club's main source of income or whether they get healthy cuts elsewhere, too?

around where I live I usually hear that it's:
- house fee to work each night, varies by night (highest Fri & Sat)
- 1/2 of LDs and rooms to the house
- 'tip out' to the bouncers and DJ
- dancer gets all of the stage tips or tips after LD or room

Depends on area. Here in FL big difference between high end Miami club vs air dance Orlando club vs Tampa all nude club. Dancer in Cocoa Beach told me she made $450 one afternoon and $150 the next.

"Why don't you JUST ask one??"

It's generally a rule you don't ask someone what they make. Strippers are people too(mostly).

WHY? I see nothing wrong with asking.

They will either say what it is or not.

All my ATFs told me what they made.

I think and ATF is different than just asking a random stripper. As a general rule people don't tend to just ask other people what they make, as it's considered somewhat rude.

I worked 40 years as a public employee and my salary and everyone I worked with had their salaries in the newspapers. In 2001 I broke the $100,000 barrier and the derision heaped on me was unbelievable. Obviously, those I worked for thought I was worth it. I never wanted more than a one year contract unless that changed. I was very good at what I did and was never embarrassed about my salary. Having lived in that "culture" I'm always a little surprised when people are secretive about what they make. I have a nephew in the "financial services" industry who just built a $2,000,000 house that looks like a Pottery Barn catalog. I said," how the Hell can you afford this and it was like I slapped him. I know a gent who has his own business buying and selling hotels and resort properties. I recently asked how he was doing as we stood outside his $1,200,000 condo with matching Mercedes in the garage. He said he hadn't had a sale in 6 months, but that sale was 5 hotels in Montreal to a Chinese buyer. My friend's commission was just about $10,000,000.
The problem of these high wage earners is that the top 1% saw income rise 20% last year. The other 99% increased 1%. What are the implications for our great country's future if that continues?
