Review of Shotgun Geniez â€¢ Hamburg, Iowa by cubbieguy, member since July, 2011 and his first review. Here's the link:

Unfortunately, the two prior reviews mention the potential flooding of Hamburg and the closing of the club in JUNE!

As Buttrub noted on June 16, 2011 "This place is officially closed down due to the beautiful little town of Hamburg Iowa being threatened by an impending massive flood that should last at least until August but probably longer. Don't look for this place to re-open for a while. As it stands today, June 16, the town has not flooded yet but the main hiway into town and the interstate are closed down and covered with flood waters.

The girls were telling me on my last visit that it may be a year before they are ready to re-open but when they do it will be in a different location. This reopening date may be sooner than that if the latest levee holds up to months of water pressuring it..."

So what's up, cubbieguy?? Even if it's based on a [way] earlier visit the info is worthless now because according to the club website:

"Our club has been evacuated and most of our Professional Entertainers will be at Shakers in Waverly, Nebraska

The town is expected to be under water till mid-August, then we will start cleanup, and rebuilding and will reopen. Please check back with us to find out when we open the New Hamburg Theater."

lol funny, gurgle gurgle. i'm dubious of buttrub the previous reviewer too. he has a total of 6 reviews, all for the hamburg and all reviews have higher than average ratings, smells like shill to me.

This happens to be my favorite club, as it is the only one within an hour's driving distance from my home in the Omaha area that has extras, at least when it's open. In my opinion, if this club operated in a big city, it would be a high ranking club if they could operate under the same rules as they do now. I personally think it would fit right in with the ESL clubs.

I don't know how much of a national story the Missouri River flooding is, but they had a levee break a month or so ago there which forced the townsfolk of Hamburg to build a temporary levee on the creek west of town between the town and I-29 to hold back the floodwater. I don't know if the club was ever underwater, because I'm not about to drive to a flood zone just to see if a strip club is underwater, but the south side of Hamburg, where the club is at, had a mandatory evacuation, although I think it's interesting that the Blue Moon bar, which is basically up the street one block from the club, has always been mentioned in Omaha media sources, and probably media sources more local than Omaha, as always being in business during this time. I do think the club will eventually reopen.

As for the cubbieguy review, my guess is it is someone who is unaware of what has happened in Hamburg since his visit. As for buttrub, I've had correspondence with him and while I don't think he's a shill, I also wonder if he's been anywhere else. Sometimes, people write reviews which rate clubs highly because they haven't been anywhere else with which to make a comparison.

@troop & DD: Never been to the club and my OP wasn't concerned with shill or overly positive reviews. Since the club closed early in June; many dancers relocated to Waverly, NE; and SG plans to reopen in a new location, ALL prior reviews are now worthless.

My satirical point was that if you're trying to slip a now worthless review through for VIP privileges DON'T review a club whose TUSCL page contains reviews immediately below talking about the flooding and club closing AND contains a club website link that banner headlines the same info. To quote vm "LMAO"
