Escorts: Utah law makes acting sexy illegal

Two escort services have filed a federal lawsuit to halt a Utah solicitation law they fear could lead to the arrest of strippers or escorts who are simply acting sexy.

Utah defines solicitation as a person agreeing to sex in exchange for money. A new law that went into effect this month broadened the definition to include any person who indicates through lewd acts, such as exposing or touching themselves, that they intend to exchange sex for money.

It was intended to help law enforcement agents working undercover in prostitution stings, Salt Lake City Police Chief Chris Burbank said Friday.

He said it would protect officers who were being asked by prostitutes to expose or touch themselves to prove they're not police because making such requests as a precursor to offering sex for money is illegal under the new law.

“Officers were being put in a position that we're not going to allow, so we took a different direction,” Burbank said.

Andrew McCullough, an attorney representing the escort services in the lawsuit filed May 9, said the law is so broad that it could allow police to arrest licensed employees of sexually oriented businesses, such as escort services or strip club dancers, for doing their job.

The expanded law includes language that makes a person exposing their genitals or touching themselves sexually an indication that they are offering sex. Those acts are legal in Utah for private strippers.

“Most girls who touch their breasts are not telling you they're open for sex,” the attorney said.

By extension if your date has a halter dress on and you buy a her dinner then have sex with her the law could arrest her for prostitution. For that matter if you go on a date, pay for dinner and a show then hope for sex aren't you soliciting prostitution??
With today's nanny-state you will eventually have only two choices: Arrainged marriage with someone you have never met and have no interest in or walkng up to a total stanger and asking her for sex not strings from either party. With the marriage you end up paying for mediocre pussy (at best) then no pussy ( dry knot hole after the kid she wanted to tie you for support) for the rest of your life.
At least with paying up front she leaves afterwards. I have never seen the logic in prostitution laws other than a way to control women (pimping should be illegal not prostitution). Men pay for sex one way or the other! Either up front in an honest transaction or trapped into paying one woman draining the life's work and life out of you until you cannot wait to die to cut her off.

Fuck the Mormons. Another reason not to spend money in Utah.

And if it's broad enough, it might be construed as violating freedom of expression.

This law would make some R rated movies, and certainly some plays illegal, not to mention the Dancing With The Stars TV program.

They have a lot of gall - trying to hog as much snatch to themselves with their polygamy while denying the man in the street an outlet. No wonder Joseph Smith was killed in a shootout trying to escape jail / angry lynch mob (they did not like him approaching their wives and daughters). I bet that Kody guy on sister wives would preach a sermon about the evil of SC's although wife number 4 looks like a stripper.

In a way Mormons and Strip Clubbers have a thing in common - we both rotate multiple girls except we lease it vs buy.
