Roselle Park man calls police, gets arrested for prostitution
ROSELLE PARK -- A Roselle Park man who called 911 to report a break-in was arrested along with a Bronx woman after the woman told police they had sex for money, police said.
Robert Nadella, 52, who lives on Henry Street in Roselle Park, was charged with prostitution offenses along with Maria Melendez, 20, of the Bronx, according to Detective Sgt. Manuel Jimenez of the Roselle Park police.
Nadella had called police at around 11:45 p.m. Sunday, and on the recording of the 911 call, he was arguing with a woman over money, according to Jimenez.
When the police arrived at Nadella's residence, he and Melendez told different stories.
“The caller stated that he met this person at a local place and they decided to have a few drinks,†Jimenez said. “The female disclosed the truth.â€
The two were released with a Roselle Park municipal court date of May 13.
