Any one else notice how many movies now have strip club scenes? They seem to fall into 2 categories. Comedies like "Road Trip" and then crime dramas where the bad guys hang out at strip clubs. I think that they have become a part of American culture. Too bad that some people are trying to eliminate them.
Nevermind. It doesn't need its own thread. FYI - Rammstein is (was?) a legitimate German rock band that apparently got fed up with the culture in their part of the world. The stripper scene starts around 1:25 in...
I used to love Al Bundy's trips to his "nudie club" (The Jiggly Room?) in the old Married with Children tv show. When tipping he used to tie a string to his one dollar bill for an instant refund!
"My Name is Earl" had an hilarious episode in which the hot latina returned to her old job as a dancer to help earn money to bail out Earl's ex. Burt Reynolds played the super-sleazy strip club owner.
I just thought of the film Showgirls, probably the worst film of all time, but it did have a fairly accurate lap dance scene and mention of "cum in pants".
It's such a cliche to include them in crime dramas that people refer to "the requisite strip club scene". They never seem to look like a place I'd recognize. Neon glows everywhere to make sure viewers know it's a strip club. The strippers are actually dancing. The customers are all wearing wardrobe-issue suits and acting alert, not passive like in a real strip club.
My favorite is still from "Beverly Hills Cop" where Judge Reinhold has that goofy grin on his face from the attention he is getting from the ecdysiast (recalling an older thread).
I rented the movie "The Wrestler" mostly because it was talked about here on tuscl for the strip club scenes. I ended up enjoying the movie even though the strip club scenes were a bit tame.
That's the only scene from Showgirls I've ever watched. Except for the upside down, fish out of water floundering it was credible. I kinda felt bad that Dale Cooper had to do that crazy O-face on camera, though.
I write part time for a celeb site and one of my repeated complaints about Hollyweird is that strip club scenes are so inaccurate. Actresses who do research stripping will go into Scores, New York, and to that club alone. Tey also go as customers. They don't go to any other clubs and they never, themself,"take a walk on the wild side".
Writers might write the scene accurately, but it is the director's job to get the scene right. Most directors today are either gay, or castrated left wing feminists. They wouldn't dream od setting foot in an establishment that "oppresses or exploits females". Sad sack fucks.
just wondering where is the strip club scene in "Road Trip" I downloaded the movie today and I am trying to skip around finding it. I am busy so I am not able to sit down and enjoy the movie until this weekend.
I think that even if Atom Egoyan did not get a lot of it right in "Exotica," that the strip club scenes are still hot. Smoking. I recommend this flick to all.
I would like to visit the strip club shown in Theory of a Deadman's "Bad Girlfriend" video (if it actually exists).
On the negative side, you've got all these wanna-be gangsta's coming into the club and “making it rain†(usually with $10 in ones) because they saw in on a rap video.
Not a movie exactly, but Soprano's had lots of scenes inside the infamous Bada Bing. I remember shots of customers sitting together having drinks at the bar/stage. Pretty sure there were no-pastie topless dancers spinning around the pole, but I don't recall if there were any totally nude dancers.
speaking of Soprano's I read this on wikipedia's entry for strip club:
"There is also a club on Route 17 in Lodi, New Jersey made famous by the television show The Sopranos. The club is actually a go go bar and does not offer nudity, but serves alcohol and not an actual strip club. It is also called "Satin Dolls" in real life, but is known more universally around the world and in the show as "The Bada Bing"."
thanks shadowcat for the follow up. I think I will enjoy the first road trip movie as I did see some nude scenes. I am downloading the second road trip right now.
Also I remember Varsity Blues back in 1999 had a strip club scene where the students go to a strip club and see their teacher dancing to "Hot for Teacher".
I recall brief "Dirty Harry" scene where Harry trails "Scorpio" into stripclub- I think area was Broadway St. with Condor Club sign visible. No obvious nudity in club.
I personally don't like strip club scenes in the movies. I get questions from my wife like: I cant believe that guys do that, and you never do that do you... etc... plus the scene is usually to tame or dark. The most realistic Ive ever seen is: the girl next door, which is a very funny movie if you haven't seen it.
ok, I found the Road Trip 2 strip club scene. @36:35
They stop in to use the restroom at the strip clbu. They try to leave but the bouncer refuses to let them leave until they spend money. They go to the private dance room and they have a daughter, mother, and grandmother dancer trio in that movie. And the one guy pissed himself during his lap dance, which leads them to get kicked out.
From a review I read, a strip club plays a role in the new movie "Big Fan." Comedian Patton Oswalt ("My Weakness is Strong") plays a 35-year old parking-garage attendant who has no life apart his fervid devotion to the New York Giants. After he spots the Giants' superstar linebacker, he tails him to a strip club and ends up getting beaten up by his idol. From the trailer the club looks like one of those upscale Gentleman's Club where the dancers all wear gowns - so this just gives another reason to stay out of those places.

NOT safe for work and getting its own post.
