Equal Quality Dancers, for EQUAL PAY

Thursday, April 30, 2015 12:00 AM
The sad fact about clubs and the demise of the QUALITY Dancers. There were a group of people back in the 1990's, that all had a meeting and "decided" to slowly but surely diminish the girls pay. Once this occurred, there was a huge influx of foreign dancers, that these American beauties were supplanted with. Like weeds amongst the garden flowers, slowly but surely they all crept in. Greed fueled the fire of the demise of the Go-Go tradition, so well known and loved, even by housewives would often accompany their husbands to the clubs. Today, a pile of club closings later....especially in the state of New Jersey, where, formerly known favorites have now become rated on TUSCL as "dives". Without mentioning any names, I shall now delineate the differentiation as to why. A once burgeoning economy, being NO excuse, as there are still many of us out here, who patron the clubs...however!...these SAME club owners have either sold, changed or been pushed out of the business by an ever increasing watchdog government, heavy upon the shoulders and backs of anyone who dare to own a business. I cite more than 100 less quality clubs all throughout the eastern corridor. In addition, the mix of people that attend, has changed from a healthy upper class business man, to these downtown types, in the very same clubs that allow, say, something referred to as the "couch" dance. Something which I, in particular, find quite distasteful. I like a little imagination to be left there, I mean, what are you saying about your club when you tout such things? Oh, and now, where there were beautiful dressing rooms, adorned with all the accoutrements that one might need to satisfy the cleanest of dancers, have been left all too many times to go to rot, even the exterior of some of these buildings, yikes, in some cases, mind you, not all. However, the bottom line is this. You get what you pay for. And if these clubs go the way of our gas stations and convenience stores, well then we are all better off NOT attending. The reason being, that when club owners are too cheap to pay for quality regular girls, opting instead for "freebies" or worse, daring to even ask these same girls to PAY THEM!...you are setting yourself up for two things, a poorer class and lesser quality girl, and, prostitution which brings with it, all of it's ills and disease. And so, in summary, it is the opinion of this writer, that we need an immediate return of ethical, loyal and honest club ownership, just as we have had for many years before this little weasel called greed and outside influx took over. It is my hope that some lucky club owner will recognize this, as surely, as soon as he does, we shall all return , and you will no longer see all the gripes and woes of club goers, who truly do miss the way it is still supposed to be~! Call it what you like, you still get what you pay for folks~!

I can see the OP's point; but things will often evolve; or devolve. The “sex business” has always been a shady business from club owners; to entertainers; to custies – in the past there may have been some nice clubs but also some horrible dives. About the only major difference I often see from earlier times is more contact and extras – but contrary to popular believe an attractive dancer can still make decent $$$ IMO w/o extras; but thinking that air-dances of the past will cut it today is pie-in-the-sky dreaming. What man likes to be teased and not be able to do anything about it (i.e. touch/grope)? Dancers call this a “fantasy” but we custies def don't see it this way especially when we are paying good $$$ that was earned thru hard work; dancers are getting *real* money and not fantasy money; so custies should be getting the real thing and not a “fantasy”. Custies are men just like a dancer's S.O. Would your (dancer) man like to be teased and then not get anything – you know that would frustrate him as a man and not just as your S.O. - if you would not “tease” your S.O. b/c you know he would not like that as a man; then neither will the male customers. In the dancer's “fantasy” she wants to turn-on the male custy so he gives her all his $$$; but god forbid he wants more than a fantasy after being turned-on – in business; which is what stripping is; one needs to understand and deliver on what the customer wants; not what you want to give them.

Papi, I've read some scholarly and credibly articles that do cite how dancing was better for the dancers in both of our recent booms (Late 90s tech boom and the Real Estate bubble of '05). Money was flowing freely in the overall economy, and traveling businessmen had expense accounts without much scrutiny. The message board on this site has a nice summary of the factors that have tilted the stripping industry more towards customer's favor in the past decade. The virtual elimination of the expense account, the rise of streaming internet porn, and consolidation of the strip club market have all played a role. Skype calls and a rise of business austerity have also meant men travel less for work than they once did (although that may be changing as the economy recovers). The "good times" are never coming back to stripping any more than they are coming back to American Factory workers. Welcome to the global marketplace!

Still great clubs out there, don't get me wrong... some better than others, however, I must say James, your post is enlightening, fact is, I was working out of the area the last several years, so...guess I was just surprised, ...incidentally ... today I talked to a barmaid at Cabaret, in Eatontown, really nice girl by the way...she also shared a lot w me, she told me how the business has changed. I understand why some people might go for the "down and dirty" thing, it's just that not all of us want that, for instance, I like what I have at home, the go go bar is just a stop off for lunch or after work, spend a few bucks, take clients there, socialize, go home, it's that simple for some. Not saying the temptation isn't there, sure. But not everybody wants that. Much rather see talent dance and hear some good music. Like you said, not all the clubs, not throwing the baby out with the bathwater.

Jasgirl and James - I would simply call it evolution. I have been going to strip clubs for 3 years and generally find it the best form of entertainment. Yes - I would certainly visit the legendary Playboy Clubs if they existed today. While it provides certain comfort to reminisce "good 'ol days" - just roll with the flow and you will see your energy return.

I am 58, so for 40 years I have been clubbing. The idea women used to be hotter is simply wrong. Its like listening to an old hippie talk about how awesome panama red and acapulco gold was, when, as a dealer (hey college law school and grad school cost) I sold them all and know that weed today is a bazillion times better. Surprisngly though hashish is not. The human brain is wired to always recall the good and to forget the bad, hence the "good old days", which if you went back in time sucked. Strip clubs were not as good 40 years ago and the women were not prettier. They were not as good 20 years ago either. They were between 15 years ago because between the mid 90's and 200's everyone had disposable income. Look at cigars. Every fricking store on earth hada humidor by 2004, now? Pretty much 99% are gone. same with the clubs. To make things worse/better to make up for the loss of business clubs let uglier women in so they could sell sex and not all dancers are sex providers, especially amongst the hottest, who if they were doing sex, were doing a cr for 3,000, not 200. A night with a supermodel level hooker is about 10,000$, so don't expect a 20 handjob. Want to screw a 10? Germany. FKK club.

I started clubbing in the mid 90s and I agree that hiring standards have dropped off a bit in some areas. However, there were also fewer clubs to go around back then and many of them were gimmicky and oriented towards stage shows, at least where I was clubbing in the northeast. Honestly i don't miss those days so much. I found most clubs to be much more boring than they are today. And as far as those comments about foreigners are concerned, since your examples come from New Jersey I'm guessing you are talking about the influx of Russian girls in many clubs. If anything, the Russian girls have improved the quality in a number of clubs as they are often among the hottest girls working in their respective clubs. Sometimes competition and fresh blood are good things and, in my experience, that definitely applies to many of the Russian girls who work in the tri-state area.

The real problem, at least for me is that the gentlemen's clubs have way WAY too many lesbians working at them. I had been going to clubs in Indy and Dayton for a while and the problem is getting way out of hand. Just this past Tuesday I decided to give PTs a try in Indy and a smoking hot girl sits down with me to chat and the next thing I notice is her making google eyes at her girlfriend on stage. There just went that fantasy right out the damned window. I am so sick and tired of this. The stupid young punks these days cater to it and somehow view watching it as an indication of their manhood or some BS like that. The lesbos are only too happy to take all their money and then privately snicker at the stupidity of these fools. American women, especially white females, are falling deeper and deeper into an abyss of dark narcissism. At some of the clubs in Dayton, the girls don't even dance at all until club is full. Forget any quality dancing let alone a good pole dancer. You cannot even find a decent pole dancer in any of the clubs around where I live. Hate to sound off like some sociologist but this is indicative of a nasty trend I see everywhere these days. Girls have become so stuck on themselves that it is now chic or a fad, to call themselves "bi or bicurious or gay". "A girl just knows what I want" they say. The day a girl does a better job on a girl than me is the day a lead bullet goes through my head. I have been staying away from the clubs more and more these past 10 years or so. When I do go its usually because a friend wants to go but I am all to frequently disappointed.
