The dancer & the client

I am a dancer. I go state to state in hopes of fun, adventure, and lastly, but never the least, money. I started out working the normal corporate 8 to 5. It wasn't enough, I've always wanted the finer things. So the 2 bedroom apartment on a middle class side of town, an old beat up Ford that enjoyed overheating 3 miles or less down the road, and a knock off bag depressed me. In addition, friends who couldn't afford a spontaneous road trip let alone a gin and tonic repulsed me. I wanted better but wasn't sure where to start at age 21, without a degree, traditional family, or friends.

I met a girl with fabulous hair extensions at a salon. Everything about her was expensive. Her car was more foreign than another language, her hair which totaled 500 dollars which she gladly paid and that didn't include the hefty tip either, a flawless face and a voice that commanded attention. Not due to attitude but to sheer sweetness, I complimented her appearance and asked where she worked. She smiled and gave me an address told me be there at 10pm sharp the following Monday night and that's where it all began.

Today, I'm her. I'm a proud adult feature entertainer who meets men and women from all different walks of life all over America. From Goldrush Miami, Flashdancers NYC, to Club Orleans in Kansas. I sell drinks, dances, and put on amazing shows for patrons. I watch them come in and out. Some happily married, some desperate for comfort and affection. Some who spend thousands a day and some who refuse to spend a dollar. Most people think its all a game and that dancers have no feelings and are only out to seek your financial status. This is only true to a degree. Even though most clubs are dark in sight there is so much light and life in each club. If not, why do people return day after day? Every product and service costs money. Even to watch porn at home forces you to pay rent or mortgage, electric, own a tv and dvd player plus the cost of the movies! No fantasy is free. Does that mean we are tricking you? No that means like any basic aspect of life there are rules and expectations. However, are there women who are out to trick you out of your money? Yes, but there's a pick pocketer on ever corner of New York City so what's your complaint? Though I like to make a generous living I want and enjoy working for it like my old 8 to 5. I truly enjoy meeting new people, traveling spur of the moment, and putting on a show so don't feel ripped off because there's not a product or service you can find that is free of charge with no fine print.

I am the " client" which I guess is better than being called a regular or customer. However, I resent all the above terms. I'm a professional who makes a decent amount of income, has a stable home family life, but still visits upscale gentleman's clubs for the pleasant view, random conversation, and maybe the part of me that want to know after all these years he's still got it. I'm aware I spend a large amount of currency on these women yet, I'd spend a large amount at the Dallas Galleria Mall! So this is enjoyment to spend a couple hours in a private room with champagne a nice looking and intelligent lady who doesn't mind dancing nude a few songs, holding a conversation, then parting at the end of the night and not having intentions of becoming my wife. I get aroused and have had chances to get lucky but I usually wonder how many people she's let become lucky winners and decide otherwise. Silly, I know but how would I explain a artillery set me up and now she's pregnant or worse an STD! I'll take my nagging wife for 500 please... At least I know its a safe option. Anyways, here I am in Miami with the dancer and tonight I guess I'm once again the "client".

    And your point is???

I agree with Shadowcat. Your first three paragraphs seem to lead up to something. Then you go off in a different direction in your fourth paragraph. The four paragraphs, together, do not add up to anything.

Except for letting us all know that you're the best at being pompous and self-absorbed what was the point of this article? Being impressed by someone who spends $500 on hair and fakes (extensions) impresses you? Ugh.

I want to have sex with the high society stripper in this article. The client can watch if he wants, but its gonna cost him.

"Most people think its all a game and that dancers have no feelings and are only out to seek your financial status"

This is the only part of what you wrote that didn't tend to put me to sleep.

The stripper/patron interaction can be & pretty often is a business oriented game. It becomes less of a game & a just bit more of a relationship IMHO when both sides of this human equation allow some feelings to show & enter into the interaction.

Hey OP - put down the crack pipe and maybe post something that makes sense.

I'm laughing at the comments (funny shit!). But the write up was good.

OP (a newbie) was rationalizing the beauty of gentlemen's clubs and the entertainers - something the veterans on this board know all too well.

Honestly, of all the $200 entertainment options: NFL, NBA, NCAA, Skiiing, Golfing, Fishing, foxy boxing, FIFA, Disney World, NASCAR, Cruise, Scuba diving, Broadway, Bowl game, Madison Av shopping, Pro Wrestling, prom date, rock concert, Motocross, red light district .... Zip lining ....

... visiting a laid back gentleman's club is the best entertainment value for money in america - bar none. (if you like women)

Where else in america can you spend $200 and get 3 hours of beautiful women around you wearing nothing but a smile and willing to please you no matter how you look or dress !

@xsje, not a bad first effort. Now that I look back at your title, I guess it was fair warning that you were going to cover both bases: the stripper and the client. So you were attempting to write from both perspectives. I think I get it. The guys on here can lay it on pretty thick, but this is the place for "articles" and it is not well-defined what constitutes an article. You simply wrote a more impressionistic free-form article. No harm there. Keep working at it. Nearly every successful writer will tell you that they write just about every day--whether it is ever published or not, they force themselves to write something every day. Kind of like the marathon runner that gets out of bed and puts in some miles every day, whether they want to or not. Just stay at it, one foot in front of the other.

I liked the article, but there was a bump between the third and the fourth paragraph that took a second to stay with. But it was good, particularly for a first shot.
Instead of attributing the qualities in the 4th Parag. to "clients" - it would be fascinating if you started a gallery of different Clients and what the average dancer's take on each is.

    Huh?

did you REALLY say strippers are people too and have feelings?!

I agree with Rionheart. The first part of the article was good. Gave us insight into why a woman would choose to be a dancer. But the you went too far off course. Made the whole thing unbelievable. Left me confused.

Interesting insight but as a SC Hobbyist I mine the clubs primarily for otc gals or mistress material if not some occasional itc sex. My current mistress I have been seeing almost 4 years danced at a club where I am VIP.

With sites like Seeking Arrangement with tons of girls looking to fuck for money in Sugar Dating (I dont buy the KoolAid its dating) or an arrangements I don't c how strippers really make it nowadays.
