I was there this past Tuesday night. Don't know if it was the same Tuesday as the reviewer, but there were very few patrons compared to prior visits. But, there were enough dancers to get attention, and attention is something that can be hard to come by at Desire, for all its redeeming qualities. Had two good lap dance sessions with different dancers. Lots of two way contact.
Nude lap dances are available. I think it is $40-45. Once ate a dancer's pussy in the regular LD area there. Didn't happen this time.

I like Motörhead’s heirarchy, although I don’t think “Balla” fits in. I think a “balla” makes an ostentatious display of spending money just for the sake of being seen doing it, without specific regard to getting mileage. When a balla makes it rain on stage, the dancer no doubt appreciates scooping up all the cash, but I suspect it doesn’t count for much back in the room. Of course, a balla could also be a whale, which I would define as somebody who isn’t concerned about paying Market rates for what he wants

Just did my first-ever "muting" on this site. I'm generally sympathetic to the plight of the mentally ill, but that doesn't mean I have to interact with them during my leisure time

^^funonthaside^^This is not something you would expect to happen at Cheerleaders. For good or for ill, it has a corporate management style which wouldn't tolerate this kind of behavior, because it is bad for the club's image. Like the OP, my inclination would have been to just cut my losses and run (wouldn't want to spend 15 minutes with this woman after her behavior), but if such behavior was reported to management, and it was repeated, I'm sure she would be gone

I DGAF about so-called "entitlement mentality". If a dancer complained to me that nobody was buying enough dances I'd write her off as a boring person with poor people skills that I'm not interested in spending time with, unless her point is that she's having a slow shift and she'll make it worth my while--in concrete terms--if I spring for a couple dances.
What I'm outraged about is the dancer who complained to funonthaside about taking her shoes off for two dances, because I also DGAF if the shoes come off or stay on..

I like this place as well. Watch out for inflated dance counts and pricing, though.

Agree the phone thing is idiotic. Assume the concern is PLs trying to take pics of dancers. Never seen that happen anywhere, but if somebody tried to anywhere, I'm sure management would squelch it handily.
My one experience with this place was like night and day compared to the reviewer on almost all counts. Just goes to show that you can't necessarily make an indelible judgment about a place based on just one visit.

With three doubles on board it's good you didn't run across any staties. Sounds like a good time, though

That particular pic looks fake to me, like Salma's image is superimposed into the background, but there are enough candid pics of her where she still looks that good. She's a national treasure

Born in NYC, conceived at Woodstock.
I was in the area for business and stopped in to Club Desire (one of my favorite clubs) in Providence last Labor Day evening and was really disappointed. Maybe 5-6 dancers in the rotation and none were attractive. OTOH, I hightailed it out of there and went to Cadillac Lounge, usually a distant second (or third) to Desire, and found enough going on to stay entertained.

The more Cubans, Brazilians, Colombians and Puerto Ricans (a/k/a Americans) in the clubs, the better, I say. Hot Latinas tend to be very hot and, while it is dangerous to stereotype, they tend to be more forthcoming with their offerings in VIP. Those I have had repeat engagements with tend to be a bit older (still hot, though), have a kid or two, and have been in the country for at least a few years, and therefore don't really fit the profile of trafficking victims. Given their language skills and education, they're raking in more money than they could in more traditional employment. To hijack a canard from the broader immigration debate, they are doing a job that a lot of comparably attractive white American woman don't want to do, so it's not like they're displacing anybody. While I'd like to believe that incidents of trafficking in mainstream strip clubs is rare, I have no reason to believe that any given Cuban dancer is more likely to be a trafficking victim than a corn-fed American girl from down on the farm.

I don't like negotiating over how much a woman will accept to screw me. She should know her value, and I'm willing to respect her self-assessment, which is different from saying I'll pay it. If a quote seems out of sight, I'll smile and decline, so it is end of discussion forever unless she unilaterally lowers the quote to something worth discussing. And, if we reach a deal, I can end up being a loyal, lucrative customer at that price for the long term. The moral of the story: In attempting to hone in on fair market value, don't go overboard quoting higher prices than you need, and don't feel like you've necessarily left $ on the table because your initial offer is accepted.

The tag teaming thing is obnoxious and unacceptable but if the Cuban/Latina dancers are attractive and give you what you're looking for in the LD/VIP area (as they usually do, IME) I fail to see the problem in that regard.

I had a bit of minor drama with a no-extras dancer (didn't know at the time) I forgot to tip, then later that evening her "friend" told her I tipped her for FS in VIP. Just seemed like a unique situation that had nothing to do with Desire per se.
I am curious about what is an acceptable expression for a dancer you're not otherwise interacting with to have on her face when you happen to make eye contact while entering/existing VIP.

Been there twice recently, on a Tuesday night and on the following Wednesday afternoon, not long after opening. Quirky place, but in a good way. Had a great time. Plenty of attractive Brazilians who really work the OTP action. Detailed review to follow when time permits.

It's a mediocre after work spot. You can Uber round trip to Delilah's for less than the cost of one LD, and see much more attractive women in a much nicer setting.

Does “making it rain” really deliver good value? I’m probably just jealous, but it seems purely performative.

These numbers aren't necessarily all that reliable anyway. For example. many of the Philadelphia clubs are listed in NJ, as are some of the Manhattan clubs

The champagne is an unnecessary upsell but the VIP quotes I've gotten from dancers at Delilah's recently have been insanely out of sight.

Good review
There’s a nail over the window of at least one of the $30 rooms that the dancer can hang her handbag on the block the view, although I don’t think anybody looks anyway

And that sounds like a good night for this rip-off place.
While Taboo is a nice enough place to ogle a lot of young spinners, Breathless and Lookers, both nearby, have similar setups and better opportunities for dancer interaction, IMO

Damn.......
Chimera: The dancer description portion of your review (minus your hemming and hawing about the deal you cut—hard to go wrong at PO) seems like it could be a start of a running review I’ve seen on TUSCL for Club Desire in Providence. Basically, anybody can offer their own comments on the detailed dancer description and ever once in a while somebody bumps it for updates.
I agree with the descriptions of the dancers I’ve met there

Seems like an overreaction to a mildly bad experience. It’s definitely a reach when somebody is complaining about driving over a chain. About the only thing I would credit here is the talent can be hit or miss, and even the “hits” aren’t knockouts by Desire standards. So it’s a trade off between going here and having a pretty good shot at extras with a nice enough woman with minimal effort, or head to Desire and potentially be ignored by more beautiful women. Sometimes I do both. To each their own

Only go there often enough to remember what a ripoff the place is. VIP is wildly overpriced and they even have a hostess to sell you on upgrades (champagne, etc.). Plus VIP is really exposed and no mileage to speak of.
Have to say, though, I've never experienced a shortage of attractive women. Before this review, would have said it is ok if all you want to do is watch pretty ladies get naked and you can fend off the relentless hustle

Had a dancer tell me she wanted me to come over to her place so she could cook a meal for me. Whatever I'd like. However:
1. She was transparently full of crap;
2. She wasn't attractive enough to make it worth the effort to do an OTC meetup, especially if I was going to have to eat her food as part of the deal; and
3. She pulled a bait and switch to get me into VIP
