About 50 years back, it was the year of the "Cuban Missile Crisis". Well, it is now the time of the "Cuban Girls Crisis" at the Spearmint Rhino (SR). I'm sure this may come across as an exaggeration but I'm not exaggerating it one bit! About 75 percent of the girls on a Friday night/Saturday morning, the primetime for strip clubs were either from Cuba or some variation of it – from South America but spent time in Miami and now at SR. About 5 percent were African-American and the rest 20 percent were Caucasian. This is in contrast to what I found during my January visit at which time, I would say there were about 40 percent Cubans. This is in complete contrast to what it was, let's say back in 2018 where Caucasian would be 75 percent of the girls and there were a few Cubans sprinkled here and there! Yes, diversity is great but I feel that the pendulum has swung too far in the other direction! This is still a Caucasian majority country and I would just expect that to be the case at SR as well but it is not! I really hope the management at SR takes notice of this situation and brings back some sort of balance here!

Then there is a second trend that has taken over at SR! Tag teams! This is a really annoying trend. I only saw this trend among the Cuban girls and given that they are now the majority at the club, this trend is prevalent. You'll see 2 girls tag teaming. Wherever they go, they go together. When they approach a group, they do so as a tag team. Now the worst part is, the VIP dances. I spoke to 2 such tag teams and I got the same response. I was told that if it is a 15 minute VIP, then the first half of it will be performed by one of the girls and the second half would be done by the other. In both of these cases, I liked one of the girls but the other girl was not my type. I asked them if I can get all 15 minutes from one of the girls but I was denied with the reason that they go together! This is a really annoying trend! My hunch here is that tag teaming is a concept that is being encouraged by the management. The girls have probably just arrived at SR and tag teaming helps the girls work together and get used to the new environment. Almost all these girls have lived in Miami and so can conduct a decent enough conversation in English. This is probably the biggest difference between Chicas Bonitas and SR were at Chicas, the girls can hardly say a few words besides "Want dance?".

The third thing that I noticed is that at around 2 – 3 a.m. there is a fresh influx of girls. Maybe that's when the shift changes but you'd be amazed that the incoming shift even at that odd hour was just amazing. So what SR has still managed to do is keep the talent level pretty high but what is annoying are the above 2 trends.
