Years ago I used to bounce at an all nude club. We didn’t have a bathroom attendant, but it would have been nice. I can’t count the number of times we had some asshole go in and bust shit up, or shit and piss on the floor, just because.

With that same VIP card you can get discount at Hotel Rizo also.

If you are a US citizen Global Entry is probably the better bet. A little cheaper and can be used in the SENTRI lanes too.

Walking is easy. If you’re not comfortable doing that taxis are easy or you can Uber. Uber in TJ is very convenient.

I would add that walking down the alley (south of the clubs) is ok too. Especially during the day. There is an alley entrance for HK and Chevelas. This will get you access to a whole new level of fun. More clubs and street girls galore. Watching the alley from the balcony dining area of Azul is one of my favorite things.

You can just say old border. As far as I know it doesn’t have a special name.

Just for future reference it sounds like you entered Mexico at the “old” border and left to the US at the “new” border, also known as PedWest or Chapperal. That’s the reason you had the long walk back to your car. They will drop you off at either crossing, just let them know. It’s helpful to use the border wait time app though. I’ve seen difference in wait times of 45 minutes between the two. With that big of a difference I’ll take the shorter wsit and deal with the walk back to my car. Great review BTW.

Thanks Tahoe. DVTJ has been like an itch that I haven’t scratched. I’ve heard all the bad reviews, but still keep telling myself I’ll have to try it out just once. Reviews like this keep pushing that day down the road.

The parking lot near PedWest is probably the most secure if you’re concerned about your car. The rear portion of the lot is dedicated to CBP officers personal cars. They have a secure well lit lot with uniformed, armed law enforcement walking thru all the time.

Tacos Frank are pretty good. They are pretty well known for thier tacos. It’s always crowded.

The cabbies always get a kick back. I’ve talked to some buddies who have been to DVTJ and they describe at as an American style Strip Club, with less rules, and cheaper. The only problem with that is it Tijuana. You can drive 5 minutes away and be at the best strip club/brothel in North America.... for less money.

I dropped in Monday evening. It was a little better than you described for Sunday, but ultimately not worth the time to hang around. That being said there was a girl and guy in the Jacuzzi filled with bubbles bath. He seemed to be having a great time.

I misread somewhere and thought he was talking about a Thursday night. I’m a big believer in the VIP card if you go on Monday or Tuesday or multiple nights. I’ve got one myself.

VIP Card isn’t really worth it unless you’re getting a room for more than one night or you’re getting one of the Penthouse Suites.

Cascadas allows HK, Tropical, Chavelas, and some street girls or off duty Chicas from other places. I’ve heard of the other bars are trying to charge you a bucket of beer to take the girl arriba. These places don’t make money off you going up to your room, they make thier money selling alcohol.

I think the free rides are one way, and you need to pay for the return trip. Personally I’d rather walk across and the take the Zona Shuttle back and forth. Free for VIP holder and still cheap enough if you’re not.

Great reviews Echo. Adelitas will always have a special place in my memories. I can almost always count on finding something I’m going to like there. Is the quality better at HK? Yes. But AB is pretty dependable. I have to agree with Tahoe though, Chicago is regaining it’s place in the Zona. Each time I go back it’s getting better. I have to be honest, if AB had a Hotel like Cascadas attached to it, along with the VIP deals on Mondays or Tuesdays I would probably stay there over Cascadas. I like the freedom of taking a girl back to “my room” and not having to pay for a room every time I go arriba.

If you were staying at Cascadas you should have had free entry.

Truth be told, none of Cascadas beds are top notch.

$20 tip for the Mesero!!! That’s fucking hilarious!!!! How the fuck did he say that with a straight face? Did Tonatsi laugh as hard as you did? Maybe 20 pesos a drink, but $20 US is someone on crack or delusional. BTW - where was the SG you found? Which hotel did you use?

I think the bucket of beer deal is dependent on day and time of week. Most of the instances seem to be on weekends. I’ve only stayed in Master Suites and the Master Penthouse Suite. I’ve never had a stripper pole in a Master Suite, I think they might be in the older Master Suites not in the newer ones. The only room I’ve had that had a couch was the Penthouse Suite, so it’s good to know they are in some of the Jacuzzi Suites.
