This was my maiden voyage to TJ – for mongering purposes, that is. Taxi dropped me off in front of HK around 2:30 AM following visit to NB Elite Mens Spa (review for which is posted for approval same time as this one). Tank was empty (or was just muy satisfecho) after my 2 girl visit to NB Elite but wanted to experience the sensory overload of the HK shit show before heading back to border, and what a shit show it was.

Was hungry and so first hit the taco stand to right of HK for some street food. 3 outstanding tacos (al pastor, birria, and carne asada were my selections) for just $4 – are you frigging kidding me; at any price, they were best I've had at any price, and that's saying something because quality Mexican food is not lacking where I call home. Order your tacos on left side of stand, pick them up with your ticket on the right side of stand, and load them up with all the great salsa, grilled onions, lime, etc. this taco stand has to offer. Right behind you there's tables you can sit and eat. Sidewalk was packed with people – locals, mongers, beggars and street vendors – did not feel unsafe, but kept close watch on my pockets and their contents (cash, passport, phone).

Entered HK around 2:45 AM, got the patdown and was told $7 entry fee. Gave door guy a $10 and was handed a can of Heineken and no change – I figured, oh a $3 beer, that's not a bad price and cruised through without seeking change. Perhaps the beer comes with the $7 fee and I gave an involuntary $3 tip, I don't know, didn't care much, though would appreciate you PLs advising if the beer comes with price of admission.
