I think the exaggerated curves show up better in selfies also. The technology of the time seems to influence beauty ideals, since it’s the filter though which we see these women. Phone selfies are the primary medium for Instagram, and don’t show slender curves very well. Strippers are often relatively petite, and have cute faces. Run way models are rail thin, and tall. Actresses are medium height, slender, and have dramatic facial features.
