Christmas party fun
Sounds like you got only "a dance upstairs" with no extras. Certainly nothing wrong with that, but I'm curious to know the details of how you spent $300-$500 on this visit. Also, how long did your dance upstairs last?

TUSCL's favorite Christmas tradition
Always nice to see the Booby Advent Calendar. ^^^ shadowcat, thanks for resurrecting my Christmas-themed ode to the late, lamented Follies. A little piece of trivia: the original "A Visit from St. Nicholas" poem by Clement Clarke Moore was first published December 23, 1823 -- exactly 200 years ago today. We'll see how long my version lasts... Merry Christmas to all you mongers out there!

Requesting Founder to have # of couches, VIP rooms, and spl rooms
^^ I agree with Dolfan, especially about updating hours. There's a North Carolina venue listed on TUSCL as being open Mon-Thur until 10pm and Fri-Sat until midnight, when in reality on Monday they close at 4:00 pm, Tues-Thurs they close at 8:00 pm, and Fri-Sat they close at 10:00 pm. That's quite a difference, and certainly worth noting. I submitted an update three separate times since last May, and nothing has been changed.

Day shift update
Great review, Jwet919 -- well-written and informative. Thanks for the update. Yes, it's hard to beat the $5-$10 dances in ATL, especially for the mileage you can get at that price point. That said, $20-and-some-mileage dances at Sparky's is about as good as it gets in North Carolina. Most NC clubs charge at least $30 a song and offer *very* little in the way of mileage -- at any price. And yes, the girls at Sparky's are sweet and friendly, and takeout is readily available at a reasonable price.

I'm going to Tattletale on this place right now. AVOID.
zma123, I took the time to read your four reviews on TUSCL -- the two you just posted and the two from Follies (2018 and 2019). Then and now, it sounds like you are not, in fact, "an experienced monger" and are easily suckered. Apparently, you have not learned much from your past mistakes, or at a minumum have not used TUSCL to research the clubs you have chosen to visit and review. I wish you well, though, and suggest that you spend more time reading other TUSCL reviews and learn from the many others here who are the true "experienced mongers."

A catch-all account
Red Room is Best Bang for Buck in Tampa Bay Area. Love this place.
Nice review, Dogonme -- lots of good details. I was surprised, though, that you indicated there were 11-25 girls working on a Wednesday afternoon. I was here only once, on a Saturday afternoon in April 2022, and there were only two girls working. As I said in my review, "This club has not been reviewed on TUSCL since last July, when it was still Desire. From what I was told by the guy next to me at the bar, it has recently been redone." Sounds like things may have picked up since then. I'd be curious to read your thoughts on that, particularly since you've been a regular since June when the snowbirds weren't there.

Wow amazing visit with my girlfriend in tow!
Excellent review, @Cainebourne. Glad you had a good time. Regarding your comment "my only complaint is that no dancer ever approached us for dances as a couple or came to hang out," you shouldn't wait for girls to come to you. A lot of dancers are reluctant to approach couples because they think the guy may have dragged the girlfriend to the club as a not-so-willing participant and figure the guy probably isn't going to buy dances. Based on my experience, if your girlfriend sees a dancer she's interested in, you will have better luck if you have your girlfriend approach her -- alone at first -- and ask about dances, which presents a crystal-clear signal that your gf is all in on this. You might have to coach your gf a little in how to do this, but make sure she tells the girl what you're looking for in a couples dance.

Fun but expensive
This is a solid review, Sfclubguy7 -- especially for a first-time reviewer. Welcome to TUSCL. Compared to most cities across the country, clubs in the Bay Area are notoriously expensive and generally pretty low mileage. I don't club there, but from what I've read in reviews, you may have been charged more than you should have even in SF clubs. Way more. In terms of what passes for "extras" in U.S. strip clubs, I think most TUSCLers would say you paid quite a bit for very little in return. I don't know if you are new to strip clubs, new to clubs in SF, or just new to TUSCL, but every single visit to a strip club provides us with opportunities to improve our game. Now that you have VIP status here, take time to read a bunch of club reviews -- both in your area and beyond -- to see what usually goes on in any given club and how much things cost. (It does vary a lot by location.) It's certainly an expensive hobby, but it doesn't have to be *that* expensive. Bottom line, though, is that you said you had fun. That's why we visit strip clubs! I look forward to reading more reviews from you.

Was worth it!
Very nice review, Grizzlygod; glad you had a good time on your first trip to TJ. I always hit up Chicago Club to see what's shakin'. Sometimes it's a little slow, but I have had many good times here. I have a few comments to share with you: The tequila shot they offer at the front door is, in fact, free. I think the robe guy and the room cleaner only expect a tip of a dollar, but you are a gentleman to have doubled that. You mentioned enjoying the foam show at Hong Kong. They do foam shows at Chicago Club, too.

Elitis
Overview of Miami Clubs
First of all, this is a great post, Elitis. Lots of good info and insight. I was surprised you thought Booby Trap Pompano was small, but to me it's really huge compared to what it was for many years before the remodel. Similar to what doctorevil said, I thought it had a certain seedy-but-could-be-fun vibe when it was a small dive bar. It was certainly hit-or-miss, but with the right girl, OMG. One slow night I got 50% off on a 30-minute VIP room, and a tiny blonde Latina firecracker (just under 5 feet tall) rocked my world, delivering a "Top 5" sexual experience for me (out of too many to count). There's definitely an ebb and flow over time regarding the relative strenths and value of any given club. In the Pomano triangle, Diamond Dolls used to get the best reviews on TUSCL, but most reviews of it these days complain of all the fake boobs and assembly-line nature of the transactions there. FWIW, it sounds like Elitis did not include DD in his recent rounds, which may prove my point. Just by chance, I think I was the first on TUSCL to post a review after BT finished the remodel, and it was probably the most glowing review I ever wrote. That was followed by a good number of similarly-postive reviews. However, over time, the reviews got "less good" as, I think, the club may have gotten a little smug about its perceived place at the top of the pecking order of Pompano clubs and people here voiced their annoyances. That shit does happen. Lately, I have seen some postive reviews again, but some of the other Pompano clubs (and others not far from there) have sort of risen in the eyes of our TUSCL brethren. Again, a great overview, Elitis. Thanks for posting it, and thanks to others for chiming in.

Roaming the USA
Hercor Hotel
I’m gonna weigh in here, since I am one of the guys who stays on the US side when I visit TJ. This will be kind of lengthy, so if you’re not a TJ monger, I’ll warn you now that this will probably be of little interest to you. My wife has no idea that I patronize strip clubs, let alone engage in full service and sometimes go to TJ to do so, so I need to maintain some amount of plausible deniability when I travel by myself. I can use my credit cards for food and lodging in the US without any foreign charges showing up on the bill, and it lets me use my stash of cash solely for fun in TJ. I can also make daily check-in calls home from my hotel in the US without a trace. I stayed in San Ysidro once, but have taken to staying a little bit further north in Chula Vista near the trolley line, which is super convenient. (As far as I know, there are no hotels near the trolley line anywhere in San Ysidro.) In Chula Vista, there are three hotels one block from the E Street station – Howard Johnson/Wyndham, Motel 6, and Sure Stay/Best Western – as well as a Holiday Inn Express another block further. All have free guest parking and there are a handful of restaurants nearby. The trolley is 15 minutes from there to the border, and costs $2.50 each way (even less, if you have a Senior pass). Keep in mind that different mongers monger differently. Some want to spend all night (toda la noche) with strippers in TJ, and there’s nothing wrong with that. My good friend Puta Tester is the TLN Master and knows all the ins and out of how to achieve that on a consistent and fruitful basis, but my mongering style is a little different. Because I only club when I travel far from my home on the East Coast and only get to SoCal/TJ sporadically, I’m not much interested in finding any regular providers. In my mongering, I’m more of a “Five F” kind of guy – Find ’em, Feel ’em, Fuck ’em, Fund ’em, and Forget ’em. In TJ, I’m good with 30 minutes in a room upstairs at Chicago Club, or 40 minutes at Cascadas above Hong Kong. At my age, I’m not gonna be fucking a whole bunch of different chicas all day and all night – if I’m lucky, it’ll be two in a day – so I don’t need a room for long. That said, at Puta Tester’s suggestion I have, on occasion, gotten a guest room at Cascadas even though I didn’t stay there overnight. Those have been times when I was, in fact, going to be mongering for an extended bit of time *and* it was early in the week when buying a VIP card gave me an 80% discount on the guest room. The VIP card is good for a few months, but because I live 2,500 miles away, it really only works for me on that particular trip. Having a room there does give me a place to stash a few belongings if I’ve brought any, shower and/or rest between sessions if I want, and saves me from paying the now $40 charge for 40 minutes and dreading the knock on the door when time is up. But you have to do the math to see if it’s worth it. Without the 80% discount on booking the room, it doesn’t make that much sense for me. Regarding the border crossing (I have always used Ped East at the end of the trolley line), I have never waited long to go from the US into Mexico. Piece of cake, though I have read there have been a couple of recent times when there was a back-up due to unusual circumstances, like a broken turnstile. Coming back into the US to return to my hotel, I have two things going for me. First, I usually come back late at night, at which time there is almost never a line and the wait time is zero. (Note: the last trolley north from the border is about 12:30 am.) Second, if for some reason I’m returning to the US during the day and lines are long, I have a Global Entry card (similar to Sentri). At 12:30 pm on a Tuesday last September, when I came back to the US after a late-morning arriba session at HK, OMG, the line went on as far as the eye could see, but because of my Global Entry card, I just waltzed to the front of the line and got right through with no wait at all. As a side note, if you have a car and don’t want to pay for parking in San Ysidro near the Jack-in-the-Box at Ped East or the big pay lot at Ped West, you can park for free at both the E Street and H Street trolley stations in Chula Vista and ride the trolley from there. The H Street lot is not very big, but depending on the day and time, you can probably find a spot. The E Street lot has space for many more cars. Anyway, my M.O. of staying in the US might not be right (or necessary) for you; I just wanted to help answer the question posed about why anyone might want to do it. As I said, different mongers monger differently. This is what works for me. Regardless of whether you stay in the US, you should get a Global Entry or Sentri card. Easily the best investment I ever made. And sorry, rugrat, didn’t mean to hijack your very helpful discussion post!

I literally could not give my $ away in this club.
Good review, jwell4 -- well-written and accurate, based on my limited time at this club. I was here once -- in April 2022 -- on a Saturday afternoon and had pretty much the same experience. Like you, I came in with hundreds of dollars with the intention of spending whatever it took to have fun. In the end, I spent about $10.00 – $4.00 for a bottle of water plus a $1.00 tip and a few dollars for tips at the stage before finding somewhere else to go.
