    SUCCESSFUL VIP
What clubs are you guys going to? What manager is jeopardizing his freedom by allowing this nonsense? In Texas the dancer and customer gets prostitution charges and the manager gets promotion of prostitution charges. I spend 80% of my night keeping this crap from happening. Somebody isn't doing his or her job. It's also why we now have cameras in VIP. Trust me when I tell you I have no interest in reviewing that footage but I do every night and fire dancers who cross the line. I am all for customers getting there money's worth but I draw the line at jail time.

    How Important is Atmosphere?
There is nothing worse than walking into a Gentleman's club that has an air of desperation and hopelessness about it. I agree with sharkhunter I have managed Multimillion dollar clubs and local dives. the Most important thing is that club staff and dancers are in the right frame of mind, that is when the magic happens

Being a Stripper without Doing "Extras"
rfcookie , you're my kind of dancer. I will run with one dancer following the rules rather than 100 willing to allow me as a manager to go to jail. Gentlemen's Clubs and prostitutes should not be used in the same breath. I wonder how much better my club would be if I used the time I spend policing private dances for something else. Your a Clean managers dream rf wish there were more of you.

Ten Things For Strip Club Owners to Consider
Jackson I like your articles and they remind me what a rut I've fallen into lately. Many thanks for rekindling a Strip Club Manager's commitment to customers. I have a couple of things to throw out to customers though from managers to customers. 1. No, I cannot give you any dancers phone number. (I may be too protective but the ladies don't need stalkers) 2. Yes I will be glad to help get the right girl to your table. 3. I know you have a thousand ideas on what would help make the club better but can we discuss them when its slow and not when I have 100 drinking customers 30 dancers and 4 bartenders to keep an eye on? 4 Yes I said I don't drink and asking me 10 times won't change my answer. (I don't see how any manager can drink and run gentlemen's clubs) 5 No I don't want to buy a large quantity of (Insert drug of choice here) to "loosen up" my dancers. 6 No I won't talk to (Insert dancer name here) and let her give you a blow job in VIP. I happen to like freedom And I don't like spending money on attorneys and bail. 7 No I won't have an after hours party with less restrictions see 7 8 Please leave the terms Bitches, ho's etc out of your vocabulary. It creates an atmosphere of animosity. And , believe it or not, the girls don't like being called that. 9 No I won't let my waitress give you a dance. She was asked to be a dancer and chose to be a waitress. 10 Why yes Mr. Customer as a matter of fact we DID open this club to make money and we ARE trying to get some of yours. On that note I will say that there are a LOT of clubs out there trying to rape the customers and I hate it. I also hate what it has done to the industry. There a few of us out there who try to run Gentlemen's Clubs instead of Strip Bars but fewer everyday I think.

Good Hustles versus Bad Hustles: Advice for Strippers and Customers
Nothing is harder than trying to teach headstrong dancers how to treat customers. In my clubs I give the girls 90% of the "Drink Hustle" and 10% goes to the house (I gotta buy the juices) A lot of times the "Drink Hustle" Is a way for me to keep a girl fed while we train her how to dance and take care of customers. It's easier for the inexperienced dancer to ask for a drink than it is to ask for a lapdance. It also keeps them from getting drunk since the drinks contain no alcohol. There is nothing uglier than a staggering drunk dancer. basically by giving them the money on it it gives them incentive not to drink alcohol and puts a little money in their pockets.

Ten Things I wish all Dancers Knew About Me (and Customers Like Me)
Manager's viewpoint again. I am printing most of these comments out to read to my dancers tomorrow. Most I already try to teach but even after 15 years managing I can still learn. Jackson you are my kind of customer. Rick, you aren't :) As managers (if you're a good one) We are doing our best to run a clean club. Getting a blow job or fucking in the VIP room is a good way to get both me and my dancer thrown in jail. In the state of Texas it's Promotion of prostitution. In my case since I didn't catch the offense quickly enough Aggravated Promotion of Prostitution. Which means I'm an angry pimp. It cost the club a hell of a lot more than the girl made that night in legal fees and bail. A good manager trying to run a clean club is a rarity these days but we are out there. Don't get angry when you see the cameras in the champagne or VIP rooms. Guys like RickDugan made them necessary.

Ten Things that Annoy Me in Strip Clubs
I would like to post a managers viewpoint here. After 15 years of trying to teach dancers how to make money I am blown away by the number of them who don't know how to take care of customers. Don't blame it all on the girls though. Most (not all) small strip club managers have no idea what they are doing and haven't taught these ladies anything. Not the job of the manager? Yes it is. Most of these girls are thrown into the deep end with no idea what to do or how to do it. I have successfully cleaned up and relaunched dozens of small strip clubs in Texas and in almost all of them the girls are clueless. We always start with the basics. 1. Our customers are not interested in Drama, if they wanted screaming or sullen women staring at them balefully they would go home, 2. A $1 tip or a $100 tip should both be acknowledged Stop by the $1 tipper on your way to The big tipper. 3. When you walk by a customer please acknowledge his presence. Again if he wanted to be ignored he would go home. 4. If you have sat with the same guy for an hour and haven't made anything move on. I have watched a dancer sit with a customer and talk incessantly while the customer is scanning the room desperately looking for a way out. Pay attention ladies we might have the wrong girl with the wrong customer. 5. Ladies your boyfriends aren't helping by taking your ones and "making it rain" Leave them at home and let our customers enjoy the fantasy. 6. If our customer just spent $200 for a champagne room please don't finish and walk out. Escort him back to his chair and thank him if nothing else. 7. The DJ is normally broke leave him alone and work the floor. 8. A smile and a kiss on the cheek goes a long way to getting dances. 9. Hygiene, Hygiene, Hygiene (nuff said) These are just a few of the basics that no longer seem to apply in most small clubs which is a real shame. And last but not least to those "managers" out there. Contrary to popular belief dancers do not perform better after being bent over your desk. And you don't either. Leave the ladies alone, treat them with respect, teach them how to make money the right way and you will gain a loyal dancer who will stick with you even when the money is slow. Oops, forgot PleaserLove you go young lady someone taught you well please pass that knowledge on to the next girl thrown into the deep end.
