I think you guys are missing the point. The people who don't want prostitution legalized are women. 50% of women think it should be illegal, whereas only 35% of men do. And when it comes to actually voting, I'm guessing a much higher percentage of women vote against legalizing.
They hate it because they HATE the idea of their husbands/boyfriends cheating on them. That's it. And as more and more women achieve political power, the likelihood that it will be legalized diminishes.
It ain't gonna happen.
If it was up to men, it would be legal tomorrow. But now as men recede even deeper into being total pussies, the likelihood has decreased to nil.

Flagooner/Papi,
As to why prices are going up, IMO it's not necessarily that the club prices are increasing, but I think that the EXPECTATIONS from the dancers are increasing. What used to be super high mileage $10 or $20 dances are now only obtainable if you go to the VIP and pay $200. It seems like dancers are becoming much more mercenary in recent years, and so many reviews complain about the VIP upsell. IMO, the younger folks seem to have this attitude of entitlement, that they should get $$ rained down on them for sitting on their asses texting their girlfriends.
And what seems missing for the most part is what I think is the #1 most important aspect of a good SC:
INTENT.
Do the girls intend to make customers feel good, or is their only intent to get as much as possible for the least amount of effort? I get so fucking tired of dancers sitting on their asses with their noses buried in their phones.
Since the 90's I've been going to clubs, and I *NEVER* had to go to the VIP to get some great action. But now it seems like in most clubs it's VIP or nothing if you want any sort of action. Of course there are exceptions, but they are dwindling.

That stripperweb article is interesting....
I can see the point that girls nowadays tend to have higher hopes, thinking everything is easy and will be handed to them, and once they see it's difficult they bail. I can definitely see that.
But the point that stripping is becoming more socially acceptable, and more girls are trying it and there are more girls competing, which results in lower $$ per girl, doesn't seem to make sense. When I go to clubs it seems like the numbers of girls is dropping, especially the hotter ones. And there seems to be an influx of foreign girls (Russian, Cuban, Mexican, Colombian, etc.), and US girls seem to think their shit don't stink and are above it all.

Papi excellent point. I keep hearing how millenials tend to live at home with their parents until their 30's or something, don't get married, and expect everything for free (free internet, free software, free tv, etc.). And you and I have both seen clubs become night-only clubs.

Here's the plan:
Make American Strip Clubs Great Again
Assume 1,000 viable strip clubs across the US. For those clubs that meet strict new federal quality standards (lap dance quality, customer satisfaction, etc.), the government will provide a $500,000 subsidy to each club every year. Total of $500 million, which is peanuts. Subsidy can be used to pay for lap dances (so that customer outlay per dance is no more than $5), stripper clothing allowance, boob jobs, stripper training, and stripper wages.
Strippers would get big bucks (which would pull them away from camming, etc.), and customers would get great service.
Now you're talkin'.....

Damn...my bucket list of great clubs to visit has dwindled down to almost nothing. I hit almost 15 of them across the US this last year, and as a whole I was very disappointed. Florida was pretty much the last place on my list, but now with the Tampa clubs dwindling to nothing (damn, I remember the Tanga Lounge and a couple others years ago), if IR is also in a nose dive I'm not sure what's left. Damn.

@flagooner, thanks...cuz yesterday I was scanning the Florida clubs, getting a hankering to head down there and try out some of the clubs, but after scanning the reviews it seemed there weren't many places left for great VHM laps. I recall Papi mentioned a club or two near Miami a while back....

But I suppose there's the other side of the strip club business, which is the bachelor party, night shift, guys who just want to oogle pretty girls and drink a beer and maybe party with their friends, and have no interest in mileage. I'm guessing that's a big part of the business? Maybe that's what clubs will focus on, and away from the dayshift, high mileage, regular-centered clubs where all of this matters.
I can't imagine there's a better job for a hot 9 or 10 chick than airdances for guys willing to give her $40 per dance to wiggle her butt and buy expensive drinks.

That's kinda funny flagooner...your recent review(s) of Inner Room was just one more review I noticed which seemed to point to yet another high mileage club where people were commenting "it just ain't what it used to be" :)

I can't imagine really how guys could be so into the webcam thing. Hell with all the free porn sites why would you want to pay for webcam stuff? And geez, sitting in your room jacking it compared to having a real live girl grinding your lap and stroking your dick? Hard to imagine there's even a contest.

Yeah, I think Amazon has already eclipsed the big physical stores in a BIG way. Sears and stores like that are closing all over the place.
It's all internet now. People holed up at their computers all day and night.

All good points. I never thought of some of those...
Personally, even though I'm a huge fan of the internet and technology, I think there are many ways that it has royally fucked society, and people are totally blinded to the adverse affects.

Yeah, but high mileage has been around in many clubs forever. Just on the west coast I know there were clubs 10-15 years ago with excellent mileage and reasonable prices. Seattle used to be known for great mileage clubs, and those got shut down. San Francisco had a few great high mileage clubs that are now either sucky chain clubs or have just died. And everyone is moaning about the downward spiral in once-great Phoenix. And the LA area used to have some insane clubs, but now it's just a few hit-or-miss clubs.
I dunno...maybe I'm just letting fond memories cloud the facts.

Wow, I never thought of that. But that's probably a big part of it. Makes sense.
Just one more way the hype of internet technology being perfect and awesome ignores how it makes people totally self-involved. And other things...

Well, after a bit of research, I decided on Baby Dolls Dallas. And I found out there are some black clubs right down the street (Onyx, DG's) that I definitely need to check out. And maybe Bucks, across the street from DG's. And maybe Pandora's and Lipstick, not far away on Harry Hines
Damn, it's nice there are so many clubs within a mile of Baby Dolls.

BTW, anyone know if Baby Dolls has a strict dress code? I can't recall the one time I was there what I was wearing. I'm hoping I can get away with my sweat pants or shorts and t-shirt.

Funny, I just checked St. James reviews and in one review the guy said:
"Very low contact rating here, some don't even want to be touched during dances"
And the very next review:
"the girls provide a nice hands on experience...."
Okay....

Cool thanks. I noticed St. James seemed like the go-to place there, but often it's hard to tell from the reviews. Different guys often have FAR different definitions of mileage, and are so worried about giving any specifics that you're usually reading between the lines.

A couple of things to keep in mind...
People in general, and women in particular, "project" themselves to others as something better than they actually are, deep down in their souls. I've said this many times before here. If you ask a woman on the street "Do you hate ____" (fill in the blanks). What will they say? "No, of course I don't hate anybody !!"
But when they're with their BFF whispering yummy secrets, what do they say ? "Oh, that Chardonnay !! I HATE HER !!! Did you see how she was looking at my boyfriend???"
So when a woman tells you something, don't assume it's what she really feels inside. And as we also know, it applies to men too. But women are especially aware of how they appear to others.
Secondly, women are more complicated than simple categorizations like this. I think that what many/most strippers feel towards their customers might better be termed "complete disrespect", rather than "hate". In other words, do they like their regular who keeps feeding her rent money? Of course, they "love" him !!! Do they respect him? Would they ever date him or marry him ? And if there was no money involved, would they even be talking to the guy? Hell no. They have no respect for them, and consider them merely business opportunities, not people they want any sort of relationship with. Do they snicker about their regular and what a fucking loser he is when they're with their friends in the dressing room? Probably. Would they ever admit it, and risk losing their regular rent money? Hell no.

By the way, since londonguy is presumably a Brit, I have one word of caution for all here....
NEVER argue with a Brit about history of either Britain or the US. NEVER. Those guys know their history like you can't imagine. And they know US history that will put us to shame.
I met a Brit in Rio once, and over a beer we started discussing history. My jaw dropped at the detail he know about US history. Made me feel ashamed.

umissedaspot sez: "Worst: George W. Bush, for invading the wrong country and catastrophic economic collapse."
Dude, seriously, if you think Bush caused the economic collapse, or that any President could cause something like that, you're dreaming. It's a ridiculous idea, and clearly a sign that you're either biased against a particular President, or you just believe what you want to believe.
Sorry, but you need to change your mind on that one. Maybe read a book about what really happened and caused it. And stop believing all the crap you hear on TV.

I think people give Presidents FAR too much credit for both good and bad stuff that happens during their presidency. Come on, most Presidents are a product of their staff and advisors, and incredibly limited by Congress and political bullshit, and for the most part, can have little effect on the economy, legislation, the world situation, and a whole bunch of other stuff. People actually think that Presidents make a lot of shit happen that they in fact have little or no control over.
Yeah, in a 4 year term they can push like a bastard for one or two major issues (Obama Care...), and MAYBE they'll get lucky and have it happen.
Personally, I think the majority of Presidents are unqualified for the job, and when they enter office they have NO CLUE what they're facing. Some are smart, some have good advisors, some are idiots, some have bad advisors.
All Presidents have good and bad, just like anyone else. I'm a conservative Republican (I guess...) but I have a ton of respect for all Presidents. Even Obama. Fucking toughest job on the planet.
Clinton was absolutely brilliant, great politician. I have huge respect for him, even though I don't necessarily agree with his policies. I had great respect for Reagan, mainly because of his love of this country, and how he was a great LEADER, in that he inspired people to be Americans. Not many leaders can inspire people. Obama is the opposite, he apologizes for this great country. That's why I have so little respect for him. Aside from the fact that he was the most unqualified President in memory. But "he", or his administration, has done some good things.
Truman was great, partly because he had the opportunity to be great with WWII. Kennedy and LBJ were stuck with an impossible Vietnam fiasco. But they both did some very good things, if you like their policies. Kennedy stood up to the Soviets in Cuba. That took balls.
Carter was a good, honest guy, but incompetent as President.
So there really is no best or worst. Maybe you can tally up all of the wins and losses of each administration, but even then a lot depends on the climate they were in at the time.

Personally, my ideal conversation from a stripper goes something like this....and I'm thinking of one of my favorite black strippers in a club in da hood...
"Damn, baby, look at you wit' dat big ol' dick...Ooooo, yeah, baby...damn that feels good baby....you want me suck on dat baby? Let's go baby, come on...."
That's what I'm talkin' 'bout....
