I still can't get past your second sentence: '...I was immediately hit up aggressively for a VIP..'. Are you sure you went to Desire?

I just don't understand what management is doing here...they buy a club, renovate it beautifully, and then staff it with very few dancers, none of whom are worth going to see. If they were more aggressive staffing the bar with attractive dancers, they would make a killing. When they first opened, they would require the dancers at Precious Moments to do a certain amount of shifts at NIkita's each week. Don't know why they moved away from that. I think that this club could be great, but it needs to be actively managed, and thats not happening now.

Actually, I don't think this guy has ever been to the club...he talks about 'inflated alcohol prices', when, in fact, Ruby's is BYOB. The private dance area does have the bouncer 'breathing down your neck', and there is no VIP room. He made up this review to get access (or, something) because the details just aren't right.

Thanks for the great review...been clubbing for 10 years, and even though I'm careful, I never thought about how easy it would be for a dancer to rummage through my pockets...need to start limiting how much money I bring with me. I appreciate the warning. I agree with your comment about the girls not speaking English. Its happening more and more, and the hottest babes tend to be the ones with the communication problem. Management really needs to start getting things under control with the prices and attitudes. Also, I can't understand why Nikita's is so bad. They bought the club, spent thousands renovating it, and then send their worst girls to dance there. More often than not the selection is too limited, and made up of dancers that I wouldn't even want to talk to,

Its been a while since I visited Elan's, but I do remember a lap dance area. Were you brought there, or was the dance out in the open (bar or table)? Like I said, its been a while, but I do remember that a VIP room was available (though I never opted for it)

Curious as to what the dance prices are now? I've always had fun at Mynx, and some of my most memorable dances were there. Pricing seems to be all over the place, though, and depends on the girl. Don't know that I was always quoted an honest price.

I don't know why they don't actively recruit more dancers. I've been pretty impressed by the looks of (some) dancers at nearby clubs. I always think that they can make more money, on a regular basis, if they moved to Ruby's

I don't know why I keep going back... When I have a fun visit, its memorable, and so I figured that I was just hitting the club on a bad day. Since my last three were so bad (all on a Friday), I figure its time to cut my losses. Definitely weren't 30 girls; I always count for TUSCL review purposes, and the number was way closer to a dozen.

This can't be from anyone in the area...he keeps talking about a 'snowy' night, but Connecticut hasn't had any snow since last March...he must have plaguarized the review from last year, or be making it up from a location very far removed from Tolland.

Gotta agree with you 100%! The quality of the dancers has taken a real nosedive...I read about it here, but figured that people were exaggerating. Sadly, its all true, and my last visit will probably be my very last visit, ever!

Agreed...this club, and its sister club, RockStar, suffer from the same problem: dancers and their cell phones. Every time I visit, its always the same: the girls just sit on the stage, and text/surf/play games. No incentive for me to walk over, and sit at the rail. I have a couple beers, and leave. I don't visit often because this is standard behavior. Bartenders are always great though; entertaining and easy to talk to.

Used to be the BEST club in Bridgeport, but management just doesn't seem to care. Start hiring better looking girls, make them dance fully nude, and treat them so well that they stay on for a long time.

Don't think this guy ever visited Rubys (ever!): Girls don't take it all off anymore; probably been 5 years since a girl went fully nude on stage. There is no bar behind the stage, and you don't buy a wristband to get dances. If you want VIP status, saddle up and visit a club for real. Don't waste everybody's time

Interesting...I was at Pleasant's on that same day, and it was dead too. I had thought about leaving, and going to Nikita's, but now I'm glad I didn't. Maybe things have slowed down for the summer.

I agree with your assessment. Lived in the area for 2 years, and this was/is the only place around. They know it too, and so they are open very short hours, charge high prices, and force you to tip every dancer via the dollar parade. I don't look for extras, but the contact is so low that dances aren't usually worth it, unless you know the girl well. Plenty of industrial parts of the city; a smart entrepreneur could make a killing by establishing a rival club nearby.

"...some of the dancers are very pushy..." ??? I don't think you visited this club at all. Girls at Desire pretty much ignore everybody, and you need to take the initiative if you want some quality time with a girl. Anyone disagree with me?

Totally agree with your assessment. Right now, Sarah is the only girl thats worth a trip to Rubys. Great body and very friendly; won't even think about taking the drive down once she leaves.
