Sounds like a disgruntled ex-employee or ex-dancer. The description of the club is not accurate in any way based on my recent experiences there.

I agree with your assertion that the dancer will do better if they act as a team. Perhaps the most memorable dancer I ever saw frequently not only thought well of me when I tipped other dancers, but she would often point out a new dancer who needed some confidence boosting and ask me to tip her or buy a dancer from her. I am certain that these qualities are what made me continue to return to the club to see her. Don't see much of that these days.

Red: You make many valid points, but if the talent is onstage is not to m liking, all the creature comforts you describe will not bring me back to the club. Case in point, there is a club in Richmond that I find to be among the best so far as its physical layout, lighting, etc. and the support staff has much of the attributes you describe . . . but the dancers really started going downhill and that caused me to stop going.

The thank you walk was very common when I started going to SC regularly about 16 years ago, and I still see it occasionally. I see in some reviews there are clubs were local rules or custom require the dancers to to make a "dollar walk" after their set to collect tips and I assume they say thank you as they collect. IMHO this is not the same thing, especially if the custom is that you MUST give the dancer the "tip". I have no problem with a rule that says if you sit at the rail, you need to tip . . . you are paying for the seat. But if I've been siting in the back talking to a friend or another dancer or just watching the game, why should I have to tip a dancer I did not watch (and would not have in many cases cared to)?

I was referring more to customers who sit at the stage and NEVER tip, and rarely or never buy dances. Why does this annoy me (apart from when they try to get credit for my tip)? Because you are right that it annoys the dancers . . . and that level of annoyance and anger can generally bring the dancer's mood down.
I agree that a "required" tip is a fee, but then again is it really a tip to begin with? Dancers are private contractors for the most part and are only making money on stage if they are being "tipped." If no one tips dancers at the stage, chances are a club will some not have any dancers worth getting dances from.

I don't necessarily want the dancer to talk to me while she is dancing. I am more annoyed by a dancer who stays by the pole or on one side of the stage for her entire set, then scoops up her tips without making eye contact. I am particularly annoyed when the dancer is not being tipped by anyone else, but seems oblivious to my presence. I will never pick up a tip once its on the rail, but I am not likely to put additional tips along side it if it goes completely unacknowledged.

I like your style. While I agree that many posters here probably would not gie you more than a second look on stage, I would be at the stage with a fist full of dollars and applause at the end of your set. So long as you made the "no wandering hands" rule clear to me, I think we would have a great time in the VIP. :-)

I will concede you may have a point - only I cannot be sure what reasons you mean. Perhaps it's an angle for finding out if the customer is interested in "extras" but not available for OTC? That might or might not be true of a married man, though presumably easier for a single guy. Or maybe the assumption is married men have less cash to spend (since a single guy at a strip club is less likely to be spending money on braces, summer camps, etc.)?

Good to have a businessman's perspective. To the extent that house rules follow from legal requirements or contractual arrangements, is all the more reason to make an extra effort to get the customers on board -- both aware of and following the rules.
