I work at Hustler on Bourbon Street. So obviously I'm very biased, but we have some amazing pole dancers here. It's a couples' friendly club, so it's not super raunchy. Visions is another solid recommendation--you'll find heavier contact lap dances than what most Bourbon street clubs offer. Message me if you do decide to go to Hustler.

Surprised by number of dancers in the new dancer directory
I'm not surprised. Lots of dancers (like me) scan TUSCL to learn which clubs we want to work at based on customer experiences. I don't comment often because of the casual misogyny on these boards.

    3. Middle of the road club = Cheetahs. Chair dances are two for $20 before 7pm; couch dances are 4 for $100. After 7 it's 3 for $100 and $20 for a chair dance. And there is pretty heavy two-way contact and the girls are hot. It very much has a locals' hangout vibe during the day.

    Hit the spot....
Rick's Sporting Saloon closed permanently in July. There's no way OP could have visited the club in September. Maybe he confused it with Rick's Cabaret.

House fees for day shift are $25 and you can work from 11am to 11pm, five hour minimum shift. If you want to stay for night shift, you just have to ask permission from the manager on duty and pay a little bit more. You tip out the DJ ($5-$10), the house mom ($5), the security guy who walks you to your car ($2 to $5) and the VIP host 10% if you get a VIP.

Thanks, Longball, and thanks Papi. Papi, you're right in your assessment. Most TUSCLers wouldn't be pleased with the mileage at Hustler. I would recommend Visions for hard-core SCer.

I have a sheriff's card. When I was hired at Cheetahs, they gave me a referral, which I brought to the police department. The station did a background check, fingerprinted me, photographed me, took $84.25 from me and gave me a temporary card. I get the permanent sheriff's card in August. But anyone who wants to dance in Vegas needs to budget time and money for a card. I will eventually need to get a business license too ($200) but Cheetahs let me work two shifts without it.

What it's Like to be a Stripper in New Orleans
I'm impressed by the way our local dancer community has organized and rallied to defeat an ordinance that would have capped the number of clubs in the French Quarter: https://www.nola.com/politics/index.ssf/2018/03/city_council_strip_clubs_1.html Many of the strippers who spearheaded the movement weighed in on this website, which is worth a read: https://www.thesexismproject.com/sex-industry/

Yes, most of them are. There are a few locales I don't recognize, but maybe they were taken before my time, or maybe they were taken somewhere else.

Book Guy-- Not right now. Visions is a good club, though. I may go back eventually.

What it's Like to be a Stripper in New Orleans
Huntsman--thank you! SJG--Visions is alive and well! Papi--I grew up nearby and love New Orleans more than any other city I've visited. The fact that it's a dancing mecca is a plus. I am looking to travel this summer. I will be in Vegas Aug. 7-14 (not that I'll get any respite from the heat there), and I am considering Sioux Falls, South Dakota, because I hear Scarlett O'Hara's pays dancers $350 a week. I'm going to Denver in late July, but I hear it's not very traveler- and tattoo-friendly.

Stripper Girlfriend: 6 Month Retrospective + AMA
So here's a stripper's perspective. You're in love with a sex worker. From your account, she is beautiful, personable and damned good at her job. Sounds like a keeper to me. She's deigned to date you. Now you want to fuck it up because you can't handle her work--which you knew about going in, because she trusts you. Maybe you shouldn't be asking yourself whether or not she'll quit sex work. Maybe you should be asking yourself you can be a more supportive partner and how you can be a better ally to sex workers. We are a marginalized group that faces enough stigma from the rest of the world; we don't need to deal with it from our partners. She loves YOU. She comes home to YOU. But if you don't want to date a sex worker, that's OK, I get it. It's a unique set of rewards and challenges that's not right for everyone. But if you DO indeed love this woman as much as she loves you, then act like it. Don't make her change or issue ultimatums. Instead, have a discussion about your feelings of jealousy, how to deal with them, and how you can get your emotional and physical needs met. Consider opening the relationship if it's not officially open already. Read THE ETHICAL SLUT. Yes, this relationship can be a catalyst for change and personal growth...not for her, but for you.
