Auditioning at Rick's Sporting Saloon
I'm a dancer, and this is written from my perspective. I auditioned here on the advice of a friend who dances here (Zoe). She'd showed my pictures to the general manager and he asked me to come in. So she brought me along for her Saturday night shift.
Let me interject to say I don't usually audition on Saturday nights. I try to go during slower times to make it easy for management. But Zoe said Rick's does audition and hire on weekend nights.
The club itself feels very small and comfortable. You walk in past a bar area to the main club, where there are two small stages. It felt slightly claustrophobic to me, but that might be because I have been reading about the fire at the Upstairs Lounge, which killed 32 people in the 1970s. I kept thinking about the lack of fire exits. Anyway, the furniture was nice and nothing looked run down. Girls were very pretty and had a range of ages and body types--from petite to curvy, young to late 30s.
