Here’s a typical scenario. A developer buys 1,000 acres in California for $10M with plans to build 5,000 affordable homes. Environmental regulations delay the project 10 years while expensive studies are required. The developer loses millions of dollars from land and studies. And, 5,000 families are without decent housing.

ICEE, what you don’t understand about economics could fill a library. When regulations make building houses or drilling oil wells more difficult, supply goes down, prices go up, and profits drop.

It took 50 years to move all our manufacturing to Asia. I wonder how long it will take to get it back. Probably not in my lifetime. But, we’ve got to start.

Let’s do an experiment. Have a club institute price controls so dances are $5. See how many dancers show up for work the next day.

I’m a daytime customer. My guess is that nightshifts at clubs ( fueled by young partiers ) will take a bigger hit than day shifts ( with older clientele).

    First Time and Lessons Learned
In some clubs, most dancers will charge a fair price for services provided. In some clubs, the business model is to scam/pressure you out of your money without providing services. When dancers do this, they are called Rip Off Bitches. Someone who wants to visit strip clubs regularly needs to determine which clubs are mostly honest and to spot the telltale signs of a ROB.

Keep three things in mind and you’ll do alright 1. Everything that happens in the club is fantasy. That’s the dancer’s job. Enjoy the lies she tells you. 2. The goal of the dancer is to remove every dollar from your pocket and put it in hers. 3. To enjoy the club, you need to learn how to negotiate the fantasy for a fair price. Learning how to do that takes time, money, and making some mistakes.

It’s not just government spending and energy restriction that’s causing inflation. It’s also complicated government regulation that increases the cost of business. According to the NY Post, Biden’s team pushed through more major regulations in his first year than any president in modern US history — 69 such regulations compared with 22 under Donald Trump and 52 under Barack Obama.

We’re from the government. We’re here to help. The Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) is contemplating whether to tinker with lending standards during a time of elevated financial insecurity and housing market volatility, At a time when we are at risk of a housing crash, the FHFA is about to change the rules for getting mortgage, throwing housing into further uncertainty.

In the last month, home prices in expensive neighborhoods in California and Colorado with lots of tech jobs have dropped 15%-20%. In ONE month. Higher mortgage rates. Tech layoffs. End of the “ it can only go up” mindset. What happens next ?

Latest Quinnapauc poll “Nearly every demographic group agreed that inflation is the most important issue. Men (39%), women (28%), white people (36%), black people (21%), Hispanic people (36%), youngsters (29%), millennials (41%), baby boomers (39%), seniors (26%), white college graduates (34%), and white non-college graduates (37%) all agreed that inflation is the most important issue facing the country right now. The one group that didn’t agree? Democrats. For them, abortion (18%) is the most important issue facing the country right now. Inflation is in second place at just 14%, just barely ahead of election laws (13%) and climate change (10%).”

Have you noticed black people are in pretty much every commercial now
Many commercials also feature gay couples. While data varies, the percent of the population that is gay is in the 1%~3% range but, when surveyed, young people believe that 20% of the population is gay. The overrepresentation of the gay population in media is the reason.

Is inflation impacting local club attendance?
Reading stripperweb, I can already see stripper economics beginning. Everywhere else, when demand goes down, prices drop. In stripper world, dancers believe they are entitled to a certain income level. When demand drops, they raise their prices, thinking this will maintain their income. Instead, demand drops even further. And, prices go up even more. And, so on.

Speaking of Blue States, at this week’s conference in Davos Switzerland, Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla explains Pfizer's new tech to Davos crowd: "ingestible pills" - a pill with a tiny chip that send a wireless signal to relevant authorities when the pharmaceutical has been digested. "Imagine the compliance," he says Fuck these people. These are the elite brains we are supposed to admire and follow ?!

Just like the last stagflation 40 years ago, the market can bounce back in 2 years, then boom for 10, with the right moves by the Fed, Congress, and President. Unfortunately, I don’t think the clock starts ticking until 2024.

A recession is defined as two quarters of negative growth in GDP. We’ve already had one, so it will be official at the end of next month.

“What's that saying... don't fix something that's not broken.“ Yup, that’s where I stand. I finally ignored SJG. I haven’t done that yet for ICEE. So far, his entertainment value exceeds his annoyance factor. Keep life interesting. We don’t need safe spaces on TUSCL. We’re ( mostly ) all adults here. We can handle it.

Gas Prices: Do Blue States put Residents in the Red
There is no magic money tree that allows governments to hand out freebies. These must be paid for, either through taxation or by printing money and devaluing the dollar. The only way society can survive is if most people work and pay their own way. There is a large segment of the population, like ICEE, who believe they are victims who deserve to sit at home while others work hard. That’s how civilizations fail.

File under “ We’re from the government. We’re here to help” The Biden administration canceled one of the most high-profile oil and gas lease sales pending before the Department of the Interior Wednesday, as Americans face record-high prices at the pump, according to AAA. The DOI halted the potential to drill for oil in over 1 million acres in Alaska’s Cook Inlet, along with two lease sales in the Gulf of Mexico.
