Russian troop numbers in Ukraine far lower than western media imply
If you look at the discussions started by Dave, they are exactly the sort of thing a Russian propagandist might post. I always thought that the stories about Russian bot farms, spreading disinformation and propaganda, were a myth. I’m now starting to think it might be real.

Now that Russian army has been exposed as corrupt and incompetent, it calls into question the territories Russia has been supporting. Most significantly, Syria is vulnerable. The Turks have an opportunity to retake that part of the former Ottoman empire. If fact, during the Ottoman empire, the Jewish people had a significant presence within the empire. Oddly, the biggest losers from the Ukraine war might be Syria, Iraq, and Iran. Among the winners could be Turkey and Israel.

Putin is a KGB, FSB sociopathic thug who is surrounded by sycophants who lied to him and told him the war could be won in 3 days. The Army is led by incompetent cowards who have lied to the conscripts, brought them illegally to Ukraine, then abandoned them to die, poorly trained and poorly equipped. The Ukrainians are on the verge of defeating the much larger power because Russia is corrupt and incompetent throughout.

    Russians win battle of Pisky
Here’s the latest UNCONFIRMED report. The Ukrainian mayor of Melitopol said that Russians are evacuating Melitopol, the Zaporizhia Oblast city between Mariupol and Kherson, and heading to Crimea. If true, then this would cut off most of the Russian troops and the only way to supply them in the south would be on the 10 mile long Kerch Bridge. Bomb that, and the war is effectively over. Is this just propaganda ? I don’t know, but it’s worth watching.

Inflation is Starting to “Drop Like a Rock”, leading to deflation.
The problem is the only control on inflation, while the government spends another trillion, is increased interest rates. These reduce demand, but that’s only half our problem. The supply chain is broken and, until new sources can be developed, inflation will continue. For example, we need new sources of potash and nitrogen fertilizer. Without that, yields will be low, as we are about to find out. It takes at least 2 years to develop new supplies. Just look at what has happened with cars and chips. Two years in, we still haven’t solved that supply chain bottle neck.

Housing inflation has peaked. Energy has possibly peaked. Food inflation is just getting started. That probably means overall inflation will trend lower than 9%, but food alone, plus anything where we rely on China, will keep us well above the target 2% for at least another year. Probably two years.

France is the only nation in Europe with sufficient energy ( nuclear ) and agriculture to survive on its own. Turkey is also relatively well off with agriculture and access to Middle East oil. Germany is toast. Look for a shift in the balance of power within Europe over the next few years,

NAFTA, or whatever the new version is called. From an economic standpoint, North America is essentially one market. We can reliably send our low added value manufacturing jobs to Mexico and sell our high value added goods to them. It’s a good fit. Similarly, Canada will be a source of natural resources needed in our expanded manufacturing. And, they will be a market for goods as the American population ages ( 70 year olds don’t consume a lot, they downsize ).

By looking at the combined markets of Canada ( natural resources, skilled immigrants ), Mexico ( age 20-40 workers and consumers ), and the US, we are better positioned than anywhere else to succeed over the next 30 years. Throw in Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan, and Japan and we have all the human capital and natural resources to thrive as a self-contained market. Screw the Chinese, Russians, and Europe.

“Mark’s dire outlook doesn’t figure in USA ingenuity to create viable solutions with our vast resources.” I don’t doubt our ingenuity, I just respect the clock. We need to add steel capacity, chip factories, fertilizer plants, mining operations, pharmaceutical plants, etc. Those are all multi year projects. Like I said, we’ll be just fine in 5 years but it’s going to be a bumpy ride.

Mortgage rates now over 6.3%. That will bring down home prices and increase monthly costs, which will force people to cut back in other areas. Recession. Inflation.

The global supply chain is rapidly collapsing. It will take 5 years to bring that capacity back to a North America. During the next 5 years, we’ll experience shortages and high prices. And, if the government doesn’t rein in spending, it will be even worse.

    Russians win battle of Pisky
Local Russian lawmakers in Moscow and St Petersburg this week issued calls for Vladimir Putin to be removed from power due to the ongoing “special military operation” in Ukraine, according to Insider. They wouldn’t risk these calls unless they had a strong indication that Putin’s grip on power was slipping

This reported in a post on Twitter: “There are Extremely Unconfirmed Reports from within the last few minutes that Ukrainian Forces have managed to capture Donetsk International Airport after Russian Forces retreated and that they are now beginning to advance into the outer areas of Donetsk City.” Countless commentators have highlighted that if this is true, it represents a major gain for Ukraine in the ongoing conflict against Russia.

“what you won't find is any actual verification of your description of the search that would be accepted in court, they would have been sanctioned.” The judge is appointing a special master to review that very point. He wouldn’t have done that if he didn’t have serious doubts about the search. Seriously, do a little reading before opining on a subject you don’t understand.

“Anything in there about illegally taking his newspaper articles and golf hats? No” The lawsuit “requests that the government return any seized item that was not within the scope of the search warrant authorizing the raid.“ You know, like hats and clippings. In addition to search skills,I guess you’ve got to work on reading comprehension.

The Judge forced the FBI to provide a detailed inventory of what they took. It’s available all over the internet. I guess 25 doesn’t know how to use a search engine. The NYPost described some of the material as “In total, more than 1,600 articles from magazines, newspapers and other outlets were found inside the storage containers and Trump’s office. Nineteen items listed as “articles of clothing/gift items” were also taken, along with 33 books. “

That’s not how a search warrant works. You don’t back a moving truck up to the house, remove everything, spend days going through it ( it took a week to return the passports ), then send stuff back. They took photos, clothing, news clippings, etc. This was intimidation, not a legal search.
