Do any of you guys cruise the CL postings? Not specifically for paid sex, but maybe even for a date or eventually a casual encounter? I have a friend who posts on CL and also responds to ads. His success has been nominal, but nonetheless, he has had some. Anybody out there in TUSCL land try this route? thanks.
Oh yeah...i forgot to mention that the ads in my area, listed under women seeking men, not erotic services, have some very beautiful women posting. So is this for real or what?
I've had luck buying 4 Door-- Sidekicks, Trackers, and RAV4s. I also attempted to contact this hot porn star, but it didn't work out. This other hottie who looked like she was from the VIP also was a NO GO----her pimp never returned the call. Finally, another dancer perhaps from Coco's? was just extreme paranoid. Dang, with her fear level of police she needs to be in another line of work that doesn't even hint a law breaking!!! :)
The best action for me would probably be "the crib," (a hangout for young hotties and explosive type personalities) however Gambling dancer declares that I'm too old and too white to be at the crib. :( Girl is probably correct.
For about six weeks I tried a "looking for platonic relationship" ad, using a passage from Wuthering Heights. I had no luck, except a berating from some feminist who was sour on romance.
I've never personally used CL for that but can attest that it works. When my wife and I were swinging we dated a couple and the female half of the couple would run ads on CL to meet men for casual sex.
CL can work for some things, similar to actual newspaper classified ads. But logic would suggest 90% or more of ads claiming to be a woman wanting a man for a hot encounter are attempts to con or steal. I have not tried it, so I'm just making an educated guess.
CL is just unfiltered data, really... combined with research, it's a useful resourece. There are forum communities devoted to sharing reviews and information re. Craigslist, just as there are for conventional escorts, SWs, etc.
Too time-consuming for my taste, but there are plenty of mongers who rely on CL; but again, it's not "luck" if you do your due diligence.
I think CL is location-specific. Some cities that aren't big enough to have an escort "market" website set up effectively, will still have a few CL ads come through town every now and again, and that might be effective. Some cities that are SO big that the market is ineffective in advertising the escorts' wares, may also have some effective CL pages. But mostly, CL is like the "classifieds" in the local newspaper -- troll them for the odd secret deal, but there are better ways to get consistently more reliable information.
Further, CL is under major scrutiny now from LE. I just read a news story but I can't remember how I found it. Here's what I recall of it: The website managers have just made a deal with 40 different state attorney generals (and presumably this deal will apply to the remaining 10 states as well), that the webmasters will set something up to go about policing the ads more vigorously. The posting girls will have to pay for an ad, with a credit card, and provide a working contact phone number, to cut down on escort ads; and new web-search heuristics will be used to try to help catch human traffickers, and run-aways, and missing children, more actively. I don't know HOW they're implementing any of this, or whether it will be easily transgressed by a computer-idiot like your typical here-today-gone-tomorrow CL girl, but I just get the impression that CL is on its way out as an escort venue.
Won't do 'em any good unless they go after the more broadly based review boards as well. I don't think CL is a central choke point here. There are so many zombie computers in the world and different jurisdictions that it will be very hard to stomp things out. And whores and their pimps and their tricks are certain to be attracted into that internet's underworld quite easily.
Overall it's more just a speed bump they are creating and/or an exercise in politics: "Look we are doing something"!
Bobby L -- agreed, the policing of CL won't really change the internet escort market much. I think it was more an issue for CL than for escorts. They don't want to be the branch of the 'net that gets the trouble from LE, and it's no great loss for them to do away with that small segment of their population. I didn't get the impression from the story that LE was hoping to deal a fatal blow to 'net prostitution this way, either. Though it may be an attempt to start setting some precedent, or to see which methods of policing and cooperation with website managers, might work or not. LE is feeling its way through this thing as much as the other side is.
I have put ads and answered them in the personals section. (LE is posting a lot for stings in the Erotic section) I have found it is full of fat, ugly middle aged women who are super-picky and looking for someone with a lot of money. Amazing, once you met or see those grotesque photos they send you. I would not let my dog fuck most of them-cruel but honest.
I heard about Craigslist being used to sell items around the house. I heard recently and saw some pics of a couple of girls who were arrested for prostitution with ads on the website for I don't know what. I thought about checking out the web site but that is another thing I haven't gotten to yet. Maybe I went to the site for a few seconds years ago but I don't remember. I wouldn't trust anyone advertising sexual related services on there but that might be my paranoia.
Last night I had more than normal to drink but was planning on staying for at least a few hours to let everything wear off. To my surprise a girl/dancer I don't remember meeting before suddenly is standing in my face telling me she wants to take me to her apartment and I could do anything I wanted to do to her. hmmm, I thought highly suspicious and she asked me at the wrong time. Of course I can't even remember what she looked like now. Strange. Maybe she thought I was someone else. Maybe I'm paranoid, I was thinking maybe she wanted money. I was distracted by something, probably another dancer and am not used to a someone out of the blue telling me strange things. I can't even remember if she was a dancer or customer. Telling me her name and talking to me for a minute works better than wondering what some strange girl is telling me while I'm on my way to somewhere else (in the club).
have met 3-4 women from Craigslist casual encounters. two in Central FL, one in N FL and one in NC. Had NSA sex with three of them. It is hot and cold, but it does work if you are patient and willing to search thru the crap.

Since you've never tried it, and I don't think there are statistics, I would think you are making a SWAG rather then an educated one. LOL
I might contend that my SWAGs are "educated," by definition!
True enough! I was just tweakin' you a bit!

But you also get a lot of garbage and junk mails...don't expect it to be easy.
