OK. Your dream car. What would you drive day-to-day if you could.

I'll lead off with a 1966 Shelby 350 fastback Mustang with a stick of course. No frigging automatic for my lazy ass.

and not modified up to modern specifications and technology. Just as it was in 1966.

Second choice would be the bullet Mustang driven by Steve McQueen in San Francisco.

both of those cars are not the fastest especially with today's technology. But still damn cool in my opinion.

Without a doubt a fiat but I'd be concerned about being able to start it.

I would pick a station wagon, but not what you’re thinking. A Mercedes AMG E63 wagon, or an Audi RS6 Wagon or a Porsche Panamera Turismo Turbo which they don’t even make anymore. I think in Europe they call these “estate cars.” They’re all pretty rare here and hold their values and are completely impractical when compared to a SUV. For example you can buy a nice used E63 sedan today for around 65k, but a same year wagon will run about 85k due to their rarity here in the US.

I dunno jascoi. I own a 60’s car. I love it and won’t change it, but I wouldn’t want to drive it every day. The ergonomics are no match for a modern car. Placement of the arm rests, no cup holders, no Apple car play, no power steering or power brakes, steering wheel is very thin, have to look at the radio to change volume. It’s a great car, but day to day? Nah.

Give me an EV or plug in hybrid for day to day. Super fast and no trips to the gas station. Maybe one of the BMWs or Porsches.

Fine fox in front, three more in the back. NOT smoking Lucky Strikes, but they could vape I guess.

While I miss my '68 Firebird, a lot of fun to drive, I do like my '22 Outback Touring. Comfortable seats, really good gas mileage and practicality for what I need now. My next will be a Toyota Grand Highlander as I need more space to transport Collies in crates for trips.

I will say, I've always wanted a '68 Charger like in Bullet. Never going to happen.

1979 Dodge Street Van from the Adult Toy lineup quipped with custom paint, heart shaped bubble windows, and plush interior, an ultimate"shaggin' wagon" with a waterbed, fireplace, waterfall, wet bar and swiveling captain chairs.

Nothing beats the convenience of modern cars - ride quality, cabin climate, audio systems, touch-screen consoles. selectable drive modes, autopilot options, power everything. I have 2024 Ford truck, Lariat trim, which I bought outright in 2023 and have never looked back.

Do I think the Shelbys, Chargers, imports, and exotics look fun? Sure, they look fun, but they cannot and never could match the performance and covnenience of modern cars. You also have upkeep headaches, parts scarcity, constant maintenance, extended breakdowns. Fuck that.

A nice SUV. I prefer a big car to small cars. It’s more alpha. I’ll always drive SUV

I would choose a large Bentley, Rolls Royce, Aston Martin or Mercedes Maybach because, well for one,,, size matters! But additionally luxury, safety and comfort matter as well. If I was on a budget though I would consider “settling” for a Genesis G90 ! I still love SEDANS!

It's interesting how exotic cars are desired for their emotional appeal, but not for daily drivers. Continuing in that vein, I'd add the 1960s Jaguar XKE. Love the car - hate the impracticality compared to my modern-day Mercedes-Benz convertible.

My daily driver is currently a Tesla Model S Plaid. I wasn’t sure I would like an EV, but other than the stupidly shaped steering wheel, I wouldn’t want to be driving anything else. I don’t typically drive fast, but its nice knowing I could blow past all the Ferraris Porsches and Lamborghinis on I-95 in South Florida.

My daily is a BMW 530i. My night weekend car is an Aston Martin Vantage. Pretty to look at, sexy as hell, sounds like nothing else, but a service and electrical nightmare.

Daily driver yes I agree with the above it's gonna be a boring answer but they gave me a Rav4 at a rental place recently, I thought it was very comfortable. I could see why it's so popular. Comfortable that doesn't stand out, every day thing is fine for me. Otherwise you get something too flashy all these little ghetto rats are gonna try to steal that shit.

But dream car once in a while is it cheating to say that Trans Am from Knight Rider that talks. I think it'd be pretty badass.

@Muddy... get David Hasselhoff to drive you around. You could ride shotgun and ogle all the chicks.

I've been driving my 2006 Hemi Charger since it was pretty new (Dealership owner demo, 4000 miles) and now have 170,000 miles on the clock. Still love and hope for another 10 years at least.

@theone&only confused on your second paragraph… the shelbys, imports and exotic cars are explicitly better performance than most the american cars… that is one of the reasons people buy them… not sure if you meant old school classic import cars or what you were referring to… but a lambo, ferrari, bugatti and a bunch of other so called import or exotic cars.. completely smoke any american car’s performance wise… The corvettes do have decent performance but theyre nowhere close to the top of the line exotic import cars… also some of the super high end challengers or corvettes etc may have high horsepower but certainly cant handle anywhere close to what the other supercars can..

Also those high tech internal features have nothing to do with the performance of a car- when you say performance im thinking of speed, handling ability, grip on the road acceleration etc… the internal high tech features are nice… but even then.. the german and japanese cars are very high tech on the inside as well. The main value of american cars is cheaper maintenance costs and no import costs… but as far as vehicle performance or tech features i do not believe they are as highly rated as the foreign cars… the japanese cars appear to be the most reliable also..

My dream car would be my friend Ray's 1970 Cuda 440 six pack in purple. Buried the speedometer at 160 on I-495. As a skier in a winter climate I need a car that is super fun, but good in snow so I drive a 2025 Subaru WRX with a 6 speed stick. Love driving a stick. Summertime is cool wheels and dunlops. Winter is plain black rims and michelin all weather tires. Have driven it in 18" of snow, but my 2015 WRX actually drove 45 miles through 2 feet of snow while strip clubbing in a blizzard in Maine.

Changing tires would be a PItA for my lazy ass.

^ I just have my friend throw em in his truck and off we go to the tire center.

modern conveniences and features are nice. And definitely the modern performance is absolutely fantastic. And I got to drive the Tesla Ludacris which was available before the plaid and it was a blast. but I will stand with my first choice.
