I have said it here many times over the years: This is an old white man game and we're dying off. You think the young men who use uber eats, only fans; on-line gaming; 50 subscriptions, snapchat, instagram actually want to go out in public nd touch women? Strip clubs would be better off marketing to the women who will not date them. On another note, clubs are getting too expensive and the women, at least to me, fatter and far less attractive. Rather go skiing.

What he said about the demographic that is targeted by strip clubs is true, but also only one facet of why the industry seems to be in decline.

Young people, those entering adulthood in the past 10 years or so, are online in a way that Gen X like me cannot comprehend. How often do we complain about all the dancers being on their phones? They seem to want to live their whole personal and professional lives through their phones and tablets. This leads them to shun in-person interactions, which are the essential to strip clubs, which is where OF comes in. I also remember one stripper who also did cam work being advised by a friend to work with her as an influencer on insta and TikTok, where the friend claimed to make the same money "without doing anything sexual". Look at how insanely hot many of the models on IG, X and TikTok are - these used to be the prime earners in the top strip clubs. Look at all the teachers, nurses, and bored housewives who make the news when they are outed on OF where they succeeded by virtue of hotness and horniness. These are the UTR, GND faves that make strip club visits memorable.

A shrinking demographic coupled with new and safer avenues for the workers to earn a living have been the death of many an industry.
