The Cloakroom DC club owners were accused of harassment and theft

This is the same club that collapsed several years ago (caused by construction next door). I knew a dancer who had been in the club as it was starting to collapse. The owners rebuilt the place into a very classy (and VERY expensive) site. She never said anything about allegations like this.

I don't know if those owners sold out to these guys or what. Regardless, if true, it's a very sad situation.

Not only are they obscenely overpriced, but they're stealing from the dancers too?

I’ve heard of similar suits against the likes of the Sapphire chain. I just looked up what I could about that club. Apparently a dancer got booted out of that club a while back because the dancers aren’t allowed to collect their own stage tips, but drop it and have the club hold on to the money while they are still working!?

Good lord, the club was just asking for trouble with that nonsense

From the article, it sounds like the strippers are W-2 employees at that club. I wonder if that actually increases the chances of tip stealing by the club (relative to strippers being independent contractors).
