TJ alone?
Cravemybbc
I have been reading all your reviews, articles and discussions on TJ (thank you for the insightful tips and info) I really want to go to TJ! Tbh, my only reservation is should I travel there alone? I dont have buddies to club with (for discretion reasons) so I travel alone in the States, which doesn't bother me. Just not sure if it is smart to experience TJ alone. Chime in! Thanks in advance.

Simply take a cab after the border-crossing into Mexico ($10/ea way), to the Zona clubs with HK club being your best option coz it’ll be your first visit. Avoid wandering around unnecessarily, especially in the alley/s area.
There are many TJ club/s reviews/articles and discussions here, and they all provide some valuable feedback. Good-Luck !
I always go alone. Lately, I have met up with fellow mongers, most of whom I have connected with on this board. Post when you will be in TJ. Might meet up with someone. I will be there on 1/27 if that works for you.

Cravemybbc, because you are used to traveling alone in the US and visiting strip clubs by yourself, your self-reliance will help you navigate your first foray into TJ.
Though I've met up with PutaTester there a few times, I mostly have made the trip alone -- including my very first time, which was in November of 2014. Talk about changes! I have always entered Mexico through Ped East (which was the only entry to TJ in 2014), and on that very first trip, the only thing at the border was a fence and full-height turnstile gate with a sign above it that said MEXICO -- and that was it! No building, no Mexican border guards, no FFM to fill out, no luggage scanner. NOTHING. One swing of the gate and I had walked, unimpeded, into Mexico for the very first time!
Anyway, I was not then -- and am still not now -- a seasoned world traveler, but I figured it out by following the few pieces of advice other TUSCLers had posted at the time. In the last year or two, there have been absolutely fantastic additions to the TUSCL Treasury of Terrific Tijuana Tips, and since you've read these, you'll be fine doing this alone.
The one tip I will reiterate today that others have posted in other recent discussions is that for your first time, I would recommend going during the daylight hours (as I did). It'll be easier to see your surroundings, both immediately in front of you as well as to see where you're going.
And daytime is fine. Unlike US strip clubs, you really don't have to worry about arriving in TJ too early -- there are always pretty girls at the Hong Kong Gentlemen's Club, which is recommended as a good place to begin your adventure.
I will take your advice and experience the club during the day. I plan on being in TJ 4 days, might bump it down to 2. If I stay 4, I may give it a go at night once I’ve gotta a handle on my surroundings.
A couple questions:
1. Do you recommend staying at a Major brand hotel ( Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt) in TJ vs Cassada’s? {I travel so much I can use points or pay way less because of reward membership) - or stay in San Diego and travel back and forth?
2. I love ITC club experiences but when I find that gem that I connect with ITC, I like to request OTC. Thoughts on OTC for my first visit? - Seems you get more bang for your buck with OTC than VIP, from what Ive read.
I would not recommend this.
Even if your room at TJ Marriott was free my recommendation would be the same: Book a room at Hotel Cascadas or Hotel Rizo de Oro. I recommend Cascadas because it's easiest for your first trip. The reason to stay at these hotels is because chicas from Hong Kong and Bar Tropical can visit both rooms while they are on the clock. If you have a room elsewhere you'll be shelling out unnecessary cash on short term room rentals ($40 HH) or VIP rooms ($110 H). Not to mention, spending extra money on cabs or Uber, or spending extra time crossing the damn border every night.
The convenience of staying right where the action happens can't be understated. Another perk of a room at Cas or Rizo is you can get a room with a Jacuzzi, and time with chicas in a Jacuzzi is one of the Zona's great treasures.

OK, so when you say "OTC", let's make sure we're clear on what you mean.
First, there's arribas: as I mentioned, you can take a bar girl from HK or BT to your room at Cas or Rizo while she is on the clock. You will physically leave the club to get the the hotel just upstairs, so this is technically "outside the club" but it's not what most of us here mean when we say "OTC" in the context of the Zona, this is just an arriba.
When we talk about OTC on this forum in particular, we're talking about meeting a chica at one of the bars, getting her Whats, and arranging later to meet her somewhere in Tijuana away from the Zona Norte. This is an excellent idea, but to pull it off, you need to develop a rapport with a chica, which means you've probably already taken her arriba in the club. This would be hard to pull off your very first trip. HK management is strict about the girls working 8 hour shifts and clocking in and out, so it's unlikely you will meet a chica at HK who would come back to your room in downtown TJ the same night.
For your first trip you should focus on arribas. You can definitely collect numbers and try to pull off an OTC next trip. (Does that make sense to you?)
If your question is on the value of an arriba versus dances ITC (like privados or VIP), this is very much dependent on what you're looking for.
Many dudes are in the Zona to meet a chica and take her bang in an arriba (OTC) immediately. For these dudes, ITC options like privados or VIP rooms are not worthwhile at all.
Me, I love warming up with a lot of sexy, naked lap dances. And half the fun is knowing that when the dance ends, she'll be back in your room for the culminating event. So I do both VIP rooms and arribas if I hit it off with a chica during fichas. To each his own!
One piece of unsolicited advice for you OP - be judicious with your fichas. Be discerning about who you buy fichas for in the first place, and then don't be afraid to eject from a ficha if it's not going well. If you're looking to "connect" with a chica, find out if that connection is there over ficha beers. A good ficha at a minimum should include sexy flirty conversation, maybe a bailecita (little dance), some mutual groping, maybe some besitos (little kisses.)
Two questions for you:
- Do you have Global Entry?
- Do you have WhatsApp (connected to a burner number)?
Neither are *essential* for your first trip, but I recommend both. The former could save you 2-4 hours of waiting in line to cross the border home. The later will give you a way to communicate with a chica you hit it off with for an OTC later.
Let us know what other questions you have. The information here can be overwhelming sometimes, and it's easy to miss even key things others have already pointed out. And I remember planning my first trip to TJ, it is definitely daunting.
That said, if, for whatever reason, you decide to stay in the US and make daily trips across the border, staying in San Diego proper adds more additional, unnecessary, and unproductive travel time to your day than it's worth. The US city that is adjacent to Tijuana is San Ysidro (pronounced "san ee-SEE-dro"), which, along with some of the other small towns there, have a number of American hotels where you can use your points and reward memberships (as I have done on occasion to provide me with some plausible deniability with my unsuspecting spouse). They will be a short Uber ride away from the border crossing.
Chula Vista, which is a little north of San Ysidro, has some hotels that are a five-minute walk from the trolley station, which you can ride (for $2.50) to the Ped East border crossing in about 10 or 15 minutes.
Again, this in no way negates RonJax2's excellent advice. I'm just trying to give you a US option as an alternative to staying all the way up in San Diego, which, with traffic, might be an hour away from the border.
Between the guides myself and EastCoaster wrote, along with RonJax2’s Spanish guide and sage advice from TJ vets like PutaTester and PAFBABS, you should be well prepared for your upcoming trip. But don’t hesitate to ask any of us questions. We’re here on the forum to help and encourage each other - it’s almost like a brotherhood.
Then once in the customs area, I just said, "fuck it, enjoy the adventure, I'm not doing anything illegal, have fun" (and I did). Leaving the customs area, the long walk out toward the parking lot, I just tried to act like I belonged and moved with a purpose even though I know on the inside I haven't seen any of this before. Then it sank in that I'm actually in another country (no, shit...I know, but that was what was going on in my head).
The next surreal moment is the first time through the heavy black drapes into Honk Kong. Seriously, you will never forget it.
It is was a great experience. Enjoy yourself if you do go.
@Ronjax2
> 1. Looking at Cas and Rizo to book a room.
> 2.If I’m understanding correctly, if I have a room at one of the two hotels, I can take a chica to my room for an ariba; negotiate multiple hours if I desired? For me the benefit of OTC is uninterrupted, exclusive time with a girl you really click with. I love multi hour stays. I’m like you! I like spending time getting to know the chica a bit. For me, conversation, flirting and vibe goes a long way. Then testing her dance skills before heading to VIP! If she’s solid in both areas 9-10 the OTC will be unforgettable! I enjoy it all, just like variety!
3. I do have global entry. Already on the burner thing from reading your comment about that. Which leads to another question/comment:
@Eastcoaster brings up a good point “plausible deniability for the unsuspecting spouse”. This is why I floated the idea of staying in San Diego, I have to check in at least once per day. Calling international when I’m supposed to be in San Diego would be suspect! HELP lol
Again all the feedback and time you guys are taking to share tips, provide insight is appreciated!
Like @OPlllini96 and Pafbabs said, it feels like a brotherhood! 🫡
I have done that more than once, even though it increases my trip costs a bit. If you get the HK VIP card and your timing is right, you can get a room at Cascadas for a couple of nights at a 70% discount. (Monday and Tuesday? I forget.) Even if I don't spend the night there, it's great to have a place in La Zona Norte to stash a few belongings, kick back, maybe get some work done if you need to, freshen up, and recharge between arribas.
Regarding plausible deniability you can also remember to turn your phone to Wifi calling before crossing the border. This will allow you to make Wifi calls from the hotel. At least that should not come up as international. The biggest part is remembering to switch her phone over to Wifi. Call before crossing the border, because You will not be able to do. So. After at least I was unable to with my iPhone on my Last trip.
