  I'd sure like to see a review for Tango India in San Jose. The have an entire Convair 440 ITC. I suspect that it is expensive. [view link]

  That club Tango looks excellent @shadowcat. Too bad it's never been reviewed here! I find that in general (with Tijuana being the big exception), the Caribbean and Central America are really underrepresented here on TUSCL and it would be awesome to see more info about these spots. We need an @PutaTester but for the DR, PR and CR

  Well in DR and CR there is no need to find a strip ckub to monger it’s mostly bars or on the streets not necessarily strip clubs. Also in South America strip clubs don’t really exist it’s just brothels

  Appreciate the input. I’ve been reading up a bit on some places (Taormina, Sportsmen Club) that are like hotels/casinos with working girls around. Also read a few older reviews on a club called Alcazar. And then there’s these “Pensions”. It’ll be interesting. I’m there on business and staying at hotel not near the mongering area. So, not sure how much I’ll be able to do.

  Tango India has been reviewed here several times, though last review was in 2020. I went there once in 2019, it had been on my bucket list for awhile. I'm glad I went, but I never returned. PROS: Huge, impressive club; has an actual plane inside; private area for lap dances; numerous large themed-rooms for on-site action (I got a tour and saw them up close, really amazing); and the hottest girls in town. CONS: Long drive from Barrio Amon and the downtown area; very expensive if you are looking for action (think 3-4X the going rate in town). I also thought the lighting was too bright when I went. FUN FACT: I did a Tango India dancer once, but not in the club. I met her in 2020 in the middle of Covid when the clubs were closed. She was working as a freelancer at the Cocal in Jaco. She was smoking hot and we made a deal for 100. Not a chance you could get that in the club normally.

  @longjohn81 For clubs focus on Alcazar, Pantera Rosa and Le Grillon. Alcazar has the best rooms, PR the largest selection of dancers. For freelancers, Taormina is the top spot, better than Sportsmen, best selection in the evening.

  @Wild Thanks! Do you need to be staying at Taormina to get a chica? Like do they short stay rooms? Or you need to have a proper reservation and be “checked in” at the hotel to get a room?

  You can pull a chica from Taormina out to another hotel, no problem (as long as your hotel is chica-friendly). No short stay rooms there AFAIK, but might not hurt to ask if they can make you a deal. There are some nice love motels in town, the chicas should know them. Hotel de Paso Estrella was super nice.

  The Hotel Del Rey in downtown San Jose. I wrote a long article or discussion about it a number of years ago. I think it was called "A Hotel of Ill Repute." The hotel's casino has 500 hookers a night.

  I was in CR last month and had a free Sunday evening in San Jose. I parked a block from Taormina and got a beer at 4pm. There were about a dozen ladies in the lobby and sports bar. Most were meh looking. One was about an 8 on my scale. I didn't talk price but recent reports said that many push for an all night stay for $200 but you can negotiate that to $100 or so for an hour. Most reports say that Sportsman Lounge is dead. I didn't have a room so hitting the pensions was a better option for me. I uber'd over to Monica's which closed at 5 pm... so I walked across the road to another place that was a very low end place with 5 women. 3 were chubby, one was pushing 60 and I went with a late 30's petite Nica. Total for one hour was 24k colones (under $50). Service was very enthusiastic. I did a drive by 3-4 pensions on my way into the city. All are in sketchy areas where an older gringo really stands out. Uber was the way to go since there was no on street parking in those areas.

  The Hotel Del Rey was indeed legendary, but never came close to 500 chicas. 200 max. It closed for a couple years when Covid started in 2020. It was back open in 2022, but the chica selection was a shadow of it's glory days - about 20 when I stopped in one evening. Though I did pull one very attractive young lady. Now though, from what I read the HDR is being repurposed under new management and the chica scene may officially be done.

  Went to Pension Monica’s during the day my first day here. I’ll write up a review when I get home. Might try to check out either Taormina or Club Alcaraz tonight.
