So if Someone says they are half black/half white they are black.
If someone says they are half asian / half white they are asian. If someone says theybare half mexican / half white they are mexican.
Am I Right?

I havent heard this rule. Usually if people are half and half theyll say they are mixed. Maybe 20+ years ago mixed people would refer to themselves as mexican, black, asian etc.
and a lot of times you can tell they look mixed. Look at steph curry… zayn malik… or many other mixed race people
I think it just comes from the fact that white is the most common demo in the USA. If there's something that helps define you as an individual, it's all good if that's what you say you are. I think it starts getting pretty complicated if you start hyphenating a bunch of your ancestries anyway, haha.
Got a challenge question for you though: what ethnicity is Dean Cain to you, being half white half Japanese but passed for white to an '90s audience and made a big show of joining ICE? I think the Chapelle's Show racial draft skit would draw a different line 😆
