I'm planning a TJ trip but will likely have some things in the car I don't want to worry about getting sorted through by random youths.
Is there a secure paid lot somewhere close?

It's safer than parking your car in Tijuana.
In my humble opinion and limited expedience, the safest place for my car is in my garage. :D
So I would leave my car and “things” in my garage, take a train, bus, Uber, to the “trolley” that would take me to the border and walk to PedWest.
Alternatively, according to “some people” who insist on driving, There's a $10-12 lot per 24 hours behind Carolin Shoes in San Ysidro; it is self-parking with a lot of parking.
One other option according to Google; this website advertises:
“Conveniently located one block north of the U.S./Mexico border, we provide a fully staffed, competitively priced, fenced and well-lit parking facility that is open 24 hours.”
4570 Camino de la Plaza San Ysidro, CA 92123
Just be careful out there.
And remember Pics and Vids or it didn’t happen.
:D
