McStews is the old Straccios gogo bar!

I had worked there during my early career and I couldn't find any information on it and yesterday I just found out I looked up I don't know some public records of bucks county... Well it's kind of weird cuz it was called Straccios catering and delicatessen and restaurant... Wow I didn't even know it had all of that or if they had all of that... Back when they first bought it and or kept it until they sold it...as far as I can tell they bought it in 72 and sold it in 87 I worked there in 77/78...
I didn't drive there my roommate drove me there so I didn't really take notice of where it was located and of course it was always dark so by the time I showed up I'm sure the delicatessen and maybe the restaurant portion of it was closed or maybe they only had girls for a short time I don't know...

While finding out the bar is still standing and it is called Mcstews Irish Pub on New Falls Road
And The beat goes on...

it's interesting to me that a number of strip clubs have connections to being a restaurant, bar or something in the food business.

HDM, besides your substantial knowledge on being a stripper as well as a number of SCs, you seem to have quite a bit of information on the story of a number of SC businesses. You considering writing a book (a la Sunshine:Diary of a Lapdancer) or possibly opening/managing a SC?

Yes I am thinking of writing a book that's why I've been doing a lot of research and talking to people and and honestly trying to find some of these places that have been buried in old men's minds well you figure I'm 63 so most of the people that knew about these places are older than me and even the people who own some of the clubs or if they're bars or other restaurants now they're really surprised when I tell them that this used to be a go-go bar it's funny when I give him the news should see the look on their faces and if there are women present you always get some snarky remark like that's disgusting or I would have never done that or something to that effect and honestly like I said I'm 63 years old I'm holding my own I'm not a beauty but yet soon as I say I was a dancer usually the men's reactions are that's cool and and some of them still ask me if I dance but the girls are like what the freak and you can tell they don't want their boyfriends or husbands even looking or talking to me...
I guess they think I'm going to just run on over there and steal their man from them,.. which I never did in my whole life... Way too many other fish in the sea LOL..

I always thought about opening a go-go club but I think that ship has sailed but I might have done it if I would have found a good partner who had the finances and I certainly would have been the manager

And I wanted a different type of go go club like one back in the day
Girls in the middle of the stage they could go around the inside of the bar for tips but you weren't allowed to touch them you know except to put money in between their boobies there is no couch dancing no extras all the girls had to be over 30 and all had to have a special talent and I'm not talking about stripper pole work I wouldn't be looking to hire acrobats even though some clubs like that...
But like I said I think that ship has passed I don't really know anybody who owns any bars now certainly back in the day when I was younger and had a lot more energy I knew many owners bartenders bouncers bar backs...

Great read HDM. Write the book, do it. In the modern day you don’t need to have an established publisher. All you need is a person with some decent editor experience and you can self publish. There’s resources on line to get you started writing with structure. If you haven’t read it, the book I mentioned Sunshine Diary Of a Lapdancer would be a template.
Your experience I’ve seen also. In the apartment complex I lived in many years ago a stripper lived there (oh no! One of them). She would be at the pool and unsurprisingly she visually gained attention. Looks and a few comments from some of the females were unkind. I also dated an ex stripper (who stripper for close to a decade). She never made it known but two separate neighbors made reference to how she walked (apparently a bit of a stripper walk though I never thought anything of it).
I don’t know if it’s too late for a club, I guess it depends how much you want to work. Startups take a lot of attention, but someone who has something established but needs help could be something for you. But I have to say, the no touching is going to be a hard sell these days. The upcharge of lapdances and the cut from strippers working LDs is, I’m guessing, how a club keeps in the black.
