The owner of the Platinum Plus clubs demanded that his DJ's play all songs at or above a certain decibel and beat number which resulted in the loudest music I have ever heard in a club. His idea was to create a party atmosphere. At 2PM on a Tuesday afternoon? In a protest, I once wore gun range ear plugs to the club. The dancers loved it. The DJ's ignored it and the owner was nit there to see or hear it. He never was.
platinum plus was the only stripclub ever where i encountered extreme max volume. i had to stuff toilet paper into my ears. from prime time until closing it was just pure noisy dj processed shit sounds.
I went to a club a few weeks ago with my wife (regular club not strip club). Something we rarely do anymore. I was in there for about 5 hours listening to blasting music the entire time. My ears rang for almost 2 days after that.
^^ Yeah, if it's a regular dance club, or a rock concert or whatever, I'm okay with that. But I think some of these strip club DJs and/or managers seem to forget that their shitty music isn't the "main" reason dudes come to the club. Part of the experience is conversating with the girls, even if it's only to negotiate the next steps for the evening's entertainment.
I was in the Cadillac Lounge one time and the DJ had the music going extra loud (and that club is often louder than most). I was really not loving it, and then I saw a dancer who was pretty hot but normally not what I look for, and I thought "Fuck it. I'm getting really annoyed with this music." and asked her for some lapdances because I wanted some sexy fun and shelter from the noise.
As we were walking towards the LD cashier I thought to myself, "Well played, strip club. Well played."
My hearing's already bad from a lifetime of doing stuff. The music in the club often makes it impossible to have any kind of conversation with the dancers. Don't want to keep saying "What?" all the time, so I just end up nodding and smiling and faking it till it's "go/no go" on a private dance. At least it's good training for the non-English speaking dancers
The idea is the clubs don't want you to have any conversations with the dancers, such as making OTC arrangements, etc. Just sit there like a PL and say, "Yes" when asked, "Wanna dance?"

To answer the main question: yes, the Watch does sometimes send an alert that higher Decibel sound exposure is occurring when ITC.
