It was a rant, what can I say. As far as hobby expense, yes it's not a cheap hobby. The gripe is that in the past 3 years it's become problematic in multiple ways, not just cost but diminishing talent, and diminishing options. If the only issue was cost, I might find some way to absorb and move on. It might be that I am unaware of new avenues that are more hidden.

Back when I first started all this many years ago, I thought the only option was escort sites and that nothing ever happened in strip clubs. I was wrong and I started to find different ways to find consistent talent. Maybe I am wrong now, though it seems daunting.

Ahhhh... sex work nostalgia. When I lived in LA I loved Hollywood Tropicana. There's no way a place like that could be opened up today. Oh well. At least I have my memories, some more blurry than others...

Anyway, it's highly subjective, I know, but I'm struggling with the idea that LA is a strip club / sex work wasteland. Go to more clubs and I suspect that you'll find at least one dancer you like in all of LA. But maybe go when you're not so backed up and frustrated that you're sweating jizz. I get it. It's a rant. We all get to complain once in a while.

Icee not everyone is renting and chances are people blowing hundreds or $1000+ on hookers dont need to rent a property. Food prices vary, things like milk and ground beef have stayed at the same price the last 3+ years at the bigger stores... restaurants have had big increases but grocery stores dont seem to have had the same increases.

I imagine SoCal was never a cheap place for the hobby compared to the rest of the country since everything is more expensive in California. Talent can be harder to find lately but if you go to clubs it is still there, at least that has been my experience lately in the midwest. Sure the clubs are as full of nothing but top tier quality but I can usually some good options in each of the cities I go to. Sometimes it can take visiting a couple of clubs to find what you are looking for, but the hunt can be part of the fun.

Inflated prices are just part of the new normal at the moment just like with everything else. The girls realize that prices and wages for normal jobs have both increased and that has led them to raise their prices. This will be the case at least until the market hits a major recession even worse than we currently have to drive all types of prices down.

On the bright side since you are in LA you are only a couple of hours from Tijuana where prices will be more what you used to see. I know it is not exactly convenient but it is at least doable on a weekend or day off.

As for "too old to club alone" I don't even know what that means. I regularly see guys well into retirement at the clubs and we have several very active members of this board that are into their 70s or 80s and still clubbing strong. Unless you are at the point of needing constant nursing care you can still club alone, especially since you are clearly still driving. If you can drive to the club alone you can club alone.

Everyone's perspective seems to hover around their hobby theme of choice. Strip clubs, massage parlors, escorts, street walkers, brothels. I'm speaking holistically.

Los Angeles was cheap when the talent was plentiful and economics didn't work well for hot women. Even with a crappy economy they have a lot more choices now that take nothing more than a smart phone in their hand to take advantage. Then again, it's possible my perspective is lost or I have less time on my hands to put energy into the search. I'm trying to inspire myself to find new angles, have just been coming up empty a lot more often of late.

I think you should start by having realistic expectations about life in general and the hobby in particular.

We all hope/dream of a “perfect life” and a “perfect experience” in the adult industry hobby…

The reality is that he odds are against it, nothing in this world is ever “perfect”, or as we want it or imagine it, or dream of it.

Expect and accept the reality of snags, some annoying people, girls 6 and down instead of 7 and up, overpriced menus and requests for tips and on and on, don’t let them ruin your enjoyment of the hobby, it is up to you to make the best of the experiences in your life.
