Playa del Carmen intell?

SalaoLikeSantiago
I know that you're young and inexperienced; but you can trust me to be sensitive and understanding. Now, here, have more tequila.
I have a business trip to Playa del Carmen coming up and don't see any recent reviews on the boards. Info on other parts of the Web warn to stay away from the strip clubs out of concern for deceitful cost claims, watered-down or drugged drinks, and other lurking dangers.
a) Anybody got a favorite club and advice? Tips for OTC arrangements?
b) Anybody with a recommendation for or against a visit to the Pleasure Palace?

(P.S. Don't give away my secret, but as many are likely to guess, I'm actually an undercover officer in Mexico's equivalent of the FBI, and I am only seeking this information to bust PLs on vacation and to hassle their entertainers.)

Playa del Carmen is a beautiful place I’ve been there numerous times I’ve never partaken of any of the activities that you’re looking for, I like the beach and there are some terrific restaurants, if you go be sure to visit Tulum it’s a spectacular place.

I’ve visited Playa del Carmen a few times while staying at all inclusive sin Riviera Maya and Cancun. Cool atmosphere and night life. Nice way to spice up the predictability of all inclusive resort. I was there with my family so no strip clubs.
It seemed pretty safe but I could see how venturing to far away from 5th Avenue and the beaches could get pretty dicey. There soldiers carrying machine guns around for a reason. Stay where the rest of the gringos are.

^ keep searching and I’m sure you’ll find more that fits your confirmation bias, but since you’ve never actually been to Playa del Carmen, it’s great that you know so much about everything, me, I don’t know so much about places I haven’t been, but lucky me I was there 2 months ago in May visiting friends.
But check the US Department of State, website and you’ll see there are no restrictions on travel in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo. You do have to be careful in most places Mexico is not any different
But keep on talking about the things you don’t have any knowledge of, it’s very entertaining

IDK much about the monger-scene there but the little I've heard is that clubs in areas like that tend to have poor ROI - the clubs are often geared towards tourists and will have inflated gringo-prices and look to try to squeeze everything they can from the visiting-gringo$.

Take a peek at the website "International Sex Guide" and see if that offers some info.

Thanks! That kind of went off the rails quickly. Looking forward to the beach, the restaurants, and the margaritas. If I gain any experiential insights I'll report back.

I had two very enjoyable trips to Playa del Carmen, in 2011 and 2015. Tons of shopping and restaurant options, and the beach is excellent (though not quite as good as Cancun). Sampled the clubs and massage places, and did OTC a couple times with a chica from a club outside Cancun. Great memories.

In PDC I visited the clubs El Farillon, Baby's Hot and Marlin. Spent most of the time at Marlin, good quality there but the onsite rooms can be expensive. I sampled Pleasure Palace on each trip, quality was excellent. They will try to hit you for $250 but last trip I negotiated $160 for 40 minutes. Again, this was 7 years ago. Some of the massage places might offer extra, but probably a minority. I had a very hot massage experience that gradually transition to a skilled dtbbbj at a place called Harmony Spa, near the bus station.
