The phrase “Turn of the century”

Do you use it anymore? If you do what do you mean by it? Used to be used a lot more referring to 19th going to the 20th century. But we are far enough from the 20th to 21st for it to confuse people. I still use it this way but is it time to drop the term and spell out what I mean? If I wanted to talk about the change over 20 years ago I would include the world millennium somewhere in what I’m saying.

What to do with this term…

I always remember the last turn of the century as Y2K since that so-called "disaster" never really happened.

I use the phrase with people my age, but with young people I try not to use confusing words like: "turn", "century", "the" and "of".

My guess is it won’t be used until 2040 to 2050

I use the phrase “Turn of the Century” when I’m heading over Benjamin’s to a stripper.

I only use "turn of the century" with other hip phrases like "23 skidoo."
