OT: Too Gun - Maverick

Didn't see a thread on this already, so if there's already one and I was just too lazy to scroll far down enough, to quote Conor McGregor, I apologize to absolutely nobody!
Word of advice: after you hand your cash to your lady friend, make sure you keep $20 to go see this in the theater with the biggest screen and loudest speakers available.
From the first second when that bell sounds and and the familiar shuffling music starts... goosbumps. This movie was fucking awesome. The flight scenes were insane.
(Not a club ad...I don't work for Paramount!)

last commentBut apparently my thumb can't hit the right letter. Too Gun? WTF? Fail.
Huge fan of the first, can’t wait to see it. I think I gotta go IMAX. Apparently it’s the most successful opening of any of Tom Cruise movies which is really saying something.
Next time you watch the first, pay attention to the credits, specifically the Naval Aviators being thanked. I've seen it a million times, but this weekend for the first time ever noticed that they thanked Peter "Horse" Caulk.
I can't be the only one who cranks up Kenny Loggins' "Playin' with the Boys" every time I drive to the titty bar. Right???

Movie is fucking bad ass, though. Saw it on the biggest screen in AZ, the Harkins 80 footer in Goodyear.
Often times sequels suck and seem mainly a money-grab - haven't seen the movie but have heard good things
I know it was about flying, but there’s an awesome, badass sailing scene as well
__/)The movie is very good. I agree that it should be seen on the best screen possible.
Flight scenes are incredible and before the movie starts, Cruise comes on the screen to say everything we're about to see is real footage, not computer generated. Evidently the Air Force was charging $11,000 an hour to fly the F-18s filmed for the movie. Talk about a ROB!
Paramont got a great deal. $11,000 per hour sounds like at or maybe even below cost. Cost per hour for military planes is published data. F 22 raptor is over $20,000 per hour, and the B2 bomber is over $100,000 per hour.
Sounds like a great movie. Loved the first, will definitely see the second.
If $11,000 per hour is correct, it is a token amount to appease taxpayers and politicians. The real cost to fly a F22 is probably 10X that. $11,000 / hr might just be the fuel bill. For comparison, it costs $9,000 / hr to rent a Cessna Citation.
Don’t forget the armed forces get something out of this too. The recruitment value is through the roof.
I haven't been in a movie theatre in over 30 years. I want to see this movie but will wait until August 2022 when it will be released for DVD and streaming.
^^ I'll wait until it comes out on regular TV, and watch for free with commercials. I don't give one fucking dollar to Hollyweird progressives, no matter how great the movie might be.
USA! USA! USA!
Can't wait to see this again. Just that bell sound at the beginning. So damn iconic.
I may be wrong... but I'm pretty sure I saw the standard DVD release of the latest top gun movie at Walmart for $5.
It's a military propaganda film
They better have Kenny Loggins singing some songs or I'm gonna be pissed
Jascoi - wrong. from Amazon.

To think how Tom Cruise has aged in comparison to Kelly McGillis!
Tom is so dreamy and delicious - and Kelly isn’t so arousing anymore.
I could stand at attention watching that sweaty volleyball scene all day long!
Have a good day! No homo!
I fuckin love Jennifer Connelly and her big-ass all natural funbags. She's definitely a starter on my fantasy fuckteam, even today at 51 y/o. She went to Yale and Stanford, so she could be as smart as she is sexy.
I agree gammanu95. Jennifer has aged like a fine wine. She was hot at cute when she was in her 20’s, and she’s now a true milf in my view.
Didn't realize Jennifer Connelly was 51...still looks great for being grandma-age!
And Muddy... if that's all it takes, you won't be pissed.
Side note...can't wait for Top Gun 3, when the chick fighter pilot becomes a stripper on the side to make ends meet. "Phoenix" is hot!
See my photo post for the use of the word...
“It's a military propaganda film“
I’m or maybe it was secretly funded by United Airlines, Delta, American and Southwest to get more people to become pilots
Scrubby is so cute! I wish he wasn’t so cute, so I wouldn’t find him so attractive.
Come over for a glass of Chardonnay tonight Scrubby. We can watch the sunset from my patio, and see how much of my cock you can swallow…

Why does the Pentagon give a helping hand to films like ‘Top Gun’?
^ does that trigger you too?
The better question is why WOULDN'T the Pentagon help movies like Top Gun? In the year after the original, Navy recruitment increased 500%.
screenrant.com
North Korea uses tge same type of propaganda via movies.
^ With a big fuck you, to both you, and your Chinese Commie buddies the movie shows a Taiwanese flag. Telling the world that Paramount is one company that isn't worried about China's money and will not be bullied like the NBA.
Yeah I just saw it, it was fucking awesome the actions scenes. I’m not ready to put it over 1 though, the original is just the ultimate classic movie.
One thing the music wasn’t nearly as good, I know it’s a high bar but instead of the movie ending with that shitty Lady Gaga song could I get some righteous brothers again. Now that is how you end a movie. m.youtube.com
Would it be as good at home on a small screen?
No.
The best parts were the action / flight scenes. No green screens, actors actually in the jets. This is absolutely the kind of movie to see on the biggest screen with the most / loudest speakers possible.
I'm trying to think of something to compare it to...all I can come up with is Star Tours. I did that as a little kid at Disneyland in like 1989 or 90, and I think this movie would make for an awesome "ride" like that.
