The guy is old enough to have been on active duty during the Panama invasion. A lot of things have changed in the workplace since 1989.

Happens far more often than is reported. Despite SJG's uninformed assertion, our military is still in large part a "good ol' boys club." It's getting better, but it's by no means as good for women as it is for men.

Shit man, when I was an Infantry officer there were no women in combat arms divisions, so the only motorboating going on was with civilian sluts.

I was at Fort Benning when townie girls frequented the Officer's Club hoping to get pregnant, and strippers were still allowed in the "I-Bar"

Depends on the route he took to make Captain. If he's a "mustang" (prior enlisted, going the Warrant Officer route), that's actually not horrible. Still slower than average from what I recall, but he's a reservist, not active duty, and that might make some difference.

I think it's pretty horrible. I knew many prior enlisted officers and all except one (a dipshit) made at least major before reaching mandatory retirement. Of course, their mandatory retirement didn't include a court martial. I also notice he's wearing a marksmanship qualification badge in this photo. I've never seen an Army officer wear a marksmanship badge. It's authorized by regulation, but it's just not done. He's clueless.

On what planet would he think that was acceptable and not about to ruin his career?!???

We should all motorboat a dancer, wife, or girlfriend sometime in the next 24 hours just because we can, and can do it without getting arrested and imprisoned (don't do it if that last part doesn't apply.

No officer with a combat arms MOS would wear a marksmanship badge because it's assumed you're qualified "expert" in all basic weaponry. This guy has Ordnance insignia and epaulets so I'm not surprised he's wearing it. On the other hand, he has a lot of fruit salad for a Captain, so I'm guessing he was enlisted and later became a commissioned officer? Maybe he got the award for motorboating. Lol

He must have had something going to make it 33 years. They dont just let you stay around for nothing. Maybe he made it that long because he started the officer track late and didn't hit the harder "up or out" quotas on officers.

The important words are Louisiana National Guard. National Guardsman are owned by the state unless the FEDS snatch them up for a deployment. That mean state rules for time in service, promotions, up our out type stuff. Each state will set it's own rules. Looking at his haircut he was an NCO and changed over to the officer track to make a little better retirement for himself.

A reasonable assumption. He has what <em>looks</em> like an Army Good Conduct ribbon on there, at least it looks like pics I've seen. Officers don't get GC medals, so if that's what it is, he was definitely enlisted at one point.

He got a slap on the wrist and kept his pension. Like cops yhe military has to be made accountable for its crimes
