Thousands of people sound like a lot, but not out of hundreds of millions or billions. Even millions out of billions isn't that much, relatively speaking. Aside from that, seeing everything online as an issue knocking on your front door only causes anxiety. Most people in the world aren't distinctive enough to be a target of anything other than convenience or random acts of violence.
