You do understand that the business model for "free" trading markets like Robinhood is that they make a lot of money by selling professional securities dealers the right to bet against you, right?

I dunno guys. I believe trading is more accessible for all of us. Not impossible for us millenials to learn and succeed at trading. just last week made a quick $600+ in trading. SO it's possible. You don't know what you're up against. Computers programmed by people smarter than any three of us that take advantage of any inefficiency in milliseconds. Investment banks with an army of analysts and traders with an effectively bottomless reservoir of capital. Hedge funds who are the elephants, and you are an ant.

I was part of that machine, once. You don't know how dirty it gets. Inside information everywhere. Martha Stewart only got caught because she was greedy and traded around a binary stock event. Lots of slicker people get away with it.

Even beyond what Tetradon is saying....there are firms that have way more sophisticated quantitative analysis and crush the big banks on daily trading. The big banks make more in the big picture but they wish they had the speed and ability that some of the prop shops have with insanely less employees.

Buy index funds and be patient. Don't try day trading until you have north of 500k just growing from index funds and then have a separate pool of funds if you want to get speculative.

The long-term answer is to vote for politicians who will end Prohibition against drugs other than alcohol. Then Mexico will get as safe as it once was. You could then live inexpensively on the border in Texas, and go to clubs like HK, where the $ goes a long way. Without too much worry for your safety.
