Another non-hypothetical for you Bones.She worked at Cherry's on W. Dixie Hwy (bulldozed for years thanks to a Haitian Church) very close to Angels. This hag was sweet and smart and had happily worked in the business forever. She didn't seem to like women at all. She had tried to set me up with some hookers and I told her look, probably 99% of the guys out there really don't care about looks even if they claim to. What you think is hot, I would probably consider shit. Also, the girl has to be able to act. No acting, no fun. I want a super fake who is super hot. Furthermore, I'm not spending a lot of money and don't need FS. Most customers are desperate for FS and that isn't what I need.
I got to know the hag fairly well. And, most shocking is she could deliver the girls. She was concerned that I would get attached to a particular girl and I said that won't be a problem if you can deliver a replacement of similar high quality. I said if you start fixing me up with garbage, then yes I'm going to start asking for the old girls that were good. Don't fix me up with low quality.
It was like heaven while she was around. One girl becomes a pest and boom the hag delivers another winner. I asked her how the hell she did it and she said she understood me very well. Some different male pimps that I've known can't if their life depended on it tell the difference between total garbage and total perfection. They give me this stupid sales job and I tell 'em just cause most johns are happy with whoever that is fine, but I have definite likes. No tall. No blubber. No bad skin. Acting is a must!

In regard to more traditional pimps, in NYC and close-in Connecticut areas at least, its getting to be more common where the pimps are being pushed out and the escorts that end up going independent - instead are using their girlfriends (and sometimes lesbian lovers) to handle security and assist in other ways.
In relative terms less need for Pimps today, and to some degree the regular agencies - especially with the availibility of the (web based) referral services - that can and do perform some of the agency functions
Since the sex revolution has become so established at this point, more chicks are becoming whores today, so the entire population of probably all these groups would likely be expanding in absolute terms
Plus the cost of living in NYC and nearby CT is getting incredibly expensive, while the economy is slowing.

A male pimp is valuable in the inner city where violence is a problem. This one young man was very smooth--actually likeable. But, everything was for him and he really didn't see quality as being important because customers have different tastes and most just want a hole anyway. He thought that I liked the less valuable women i.e. small without the weight. And, he didn't seem to be able to see the difference between a poor quality small woman and a good quality small woman. He just didn't see that looks were that important to having a good time.

The old lady pimp was sort of afraid to introduce me to this breath taking young black girl. The only case I remember where she wanted a pass on judgment. The problem wasn't the girl's looks. Her personality was different in that she was very full of herself. So I asked why did you want to introduce me to her? She says because she will light up your eyes for sure. I said sounds good with a big smile. Then she says and your going to promise me that you aren't going to hurt her. I'm like what the hell? You always tell'n me what a nice guy, I am! She says yes you're a very nice guy, but I'm not sure how you will react to being pushed and this young girl is all attitude. I say by hurt you mean no serious injury? She says exactly. You not going to go off the deep end? I say since you've warned me, then it shouldn't be a problem being reasonably calm. That young women was something else. Praise the lord that the hag had warned me ahead of time. I probably would have lost it. As it turned out it she was worth seeing and meeting. Her beauty was special. Not fun in the erotic sense--fun in the experience sense. Fortunately, she is few and far between as far as personalities go.
