Tijuana Safety

Hey all,

This is not a conventional tuscl post but am looking for some encouraging words from fellow mongers. I live in Nevada but am trying to get a hair transplant done in Tijuana; they have excellent clinics from what I have gathered. The only thing is, I've never been to Tijuana and am slightly nervous about safety. I figured there'd be no better place to ask about this kind of thing than people who are traveling there and spending time in the clubs. The clinic is just 10 minute drive past the border, so I imagine if people feel safe at HK and mongering around, I shouldn't have any issue. It seems like one of the biggest concerns is just getting harassed by police and such, but I will have a driver from the clinic picking me up in SD and taking me back, so that should be fine.

Anyone who can tell me to just not overthink it and that I'll be fine will be encouraging :) ty guys !

My nephew researched hair transplants and discarded Mexico. He chose Turkey. They did an amazing job and he flew through Frankfurt, which as monger seems way better than Tijuana. Just saying.

@Happygolucky You have nothing to worry about, as long as you don’t do anything wrong or stupid, like carrying illegal weapons or drugs. Since you will be escorted and driven in and out of the country you will be safer than anyone else. I have to remind you to use common-sense precautions that you would use when traveling to any other foreign or domestic large city, like avoiding walking alone at nighttime or traveling on remote roads or isolated highways during the night. If you like to visit the Happiest Place on Earth according to Krusty: m.youtube.com And its crown jewel: Hong Kong Gentlemen's Club Hong Kong Gentlemen’s Club, just ask your driver to take you there and use the club’s free limousine service when you are ready to go back to San Diego. However I would recommend that that if you are going to be under de influence of prescribed medication, you better stay away until another visit. Just focus on your health and have a relaxing time in Tijuana. Let’s be careful out there. :D

Tyvm! yeah, I would really love to visit the club, but figure its a bad idea to do in conjunction with the procedure lol.. and plus, i really am quite nervous, so maybe this will be a good way to ease me in to crossing the border. im literally getting dropped off at my hotel, going to clinic, rightb ack to hotel, then leaving next day.. so no itinerary outside of the procedure

A lot of people say common sense but that's not really helpful at all and its just very generic for big city stuff.

If you plan on just getting the hair transplant:

Don't bring cash, just bring card. Chances are you will check out at least the neighborhood of your clinic and there's a small chance Mexican police will just target you for something dumb just because you're not mexican. They will play the car game of just driving you around until you give up cash or just do a wallet biopsy directly.

If you do go into a club, only go into known name-brand one such as Hong Kong, Chicagos, etc. affiliated. Unknown clubs will do the sudden XXX charge on you since you're not mexican and they know you have money. If you do get tricked however, withdraw from ATM and pay. Do NOT use Zelle or related. There are laws for the card and ATM itself. You can reverse the transaction and fight it. Zelle and such they will tell you to fuck off.

Try not to go out at night on foot since again you will be targeted. Take uber or related.

I did see from a comment of yours that you're going from the hotel -> clinc -> back to hotel San diego so most of this doesn't matter unless you're doing a day trip/night trip in Tijuana.

And if you take cash, hide most your money. To me the biggest danger in tijuana is the policia.

Hair transplants or whatever? Just do what I did back in my 40s. Bald is beautiful.

Dirty People, Dirty Place.

Nothing down in that gutter of a country is safe.
