One time I went to Zona Norte, I took Adelita or HK van(I don't exactly remember) to get to the strip and I tried to hand the driver $2 and he refused it, saying it's too little. I mean, the whole point of me taking the van or limo accommodated by the club is to save on cab fares, but if they expect me to give them more than $2 tips, then what's the point? I honestly thought $2 was even generous and I was really taken aback by his reaction when I tried to hand him $2. Do other mongers tip these drivers more and is that why they have this anticipation of getting tipped more...?

Whats the point if it cost as much as uber or taxi? Well, it's a safe ride with no police pulling you over and will most likely rob you.
My answer would be if you don't want a tip, then thanks and have a great day. Can't say I've ever been in a cab pulled over by the police.

He was greedy. I often tip $2. Occasionally a dollar more if I have ridden with the driver before and have a good experience.
Was he an older, tall, gaunt person? I have ridden with him several times and he’s always been a bit surly.
Don’t like my $2 tip? Cool. I’ll give it to one of the street beggars, preferably a woman with small children. They will appreciate it for sure.

I've ridden the HK shuttle many times and always tip $2. Haven't come across an asshole like that. They've usually been appreciative.

Seems that driver is a little greedy. if I’m alone in the vehicle with the driver I will tip him two dollars usually if I’m with other riders in the vehicle I will tip one dollar.
